Kelly Irish Canadian Korner & My Delaware Moor Ancestry
*This Genealogy Page was developed to honor the Family History of my ancestors. It is a celebration of the strength and rich cultural heritage of my ancestors and it is to these Kelly Irish Canadian Kin that I dedicate this Genealogy Page. Long ago and far away in a Great Northern Country {Ontario and Upper Canada} Also Known As... "The Great Beyond" {another name for the Canadian wilderness} dwelled a proud and noble people who were my Kelly Irish-Canadian Ancestors! Two generations of Kellys were born into this cold and rugged expanse of wilderness, where their families thrived and the Kelly patriarchs and matriarchs lived to a ripe old age! This is my father's line as follows: (1) I am the second generation of my paternal Kelly-Line to be born in America! My name is Loren Gerald Kelly and I was born in March of 1951 in Borger, Texas! (2) My father:
Luther James Kelly was the first generation of our Kelly-Line to be born in the United States of America on 15, June, 1907 in Findlay, Ohio! (3) My Grandfather, Nathan Tompkins Kelly, was the second generation of our Kelly-Line to be born in Canada on 24, August, 1867 in Blenheim, Kent County, Ontario [Became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1879]! (4)My Great-Grandfather, James Kelly, was the first generation of our Kelly-Line to be born in Canada on 09, September, 1838 in Burritts Rapids, Oxford-on-Rideau Township, Grenville County, Upper Canada. [Became a Naturalized U.S. Citizen in 1879]! (5) Thomas Francis Kelly, my Great-Great-Grandfather, was born in about 1800, somewhere in Ireland, and I am on the threshold of tracing him back across the water and through the "Irish Mist" of that "Emerald Isle" of Ireland! KELLY MOTTO: "Turis - Fortis - Mihi - Deus!"....."God is my tower of strength!" My Loyalist Ancestor: Private Israel Tompkins [My G-G-G-Grandfather]...."As a member of Kings Loyal Americans, Kings Rangers, Rogers Rangers, and Jessups Loyal Rangers he served the Royal Standard for 5 years and 3 months, in service to "The Crown" and was honorably discharged 17, January, 1783 at Riviere des Chene!"

*I am also researching my mother's(Vivian Madeline Williams Kelly Honea's)Line.
My maternal Grandmother(Elnora Parrish Williams)was the daughter of Elizabeth Miller Parrish, born 25, Nov, 1849,to Enoch Miller & Phoebe A. Carney Miller in Duck Creek Hundred, Kent County, Delaware. Phoebe A.Carney Miller was a descendant of the Delaware Moors, who were a Colonial Mixed-Race Native American Community. This unique group of people, descendants of Nanticoke(Tidewater People)Native Americans, some of whom inter-married with whites, some with blacks, have maintained a seperate and unique community, despite all attempts to force assimilation, for close to 300 years. They still exist to this day in Kent County

My Shockey Homepage
Shockey family of Western Pennsylvania, beginning with my great-great-grandfather John Valentine Shockey. It is believed that he was born in Somerset Co, PA, in 1819. I believe that John V was married twice, although I cannot find the first Mrs Shockey. He was married to Mary Ann Ort, perhaps in Maryland, one source saying in 1852, the year is 4th child and my great-grandfather, Matthew was born. Their children were: Philena Rachel, Abraham Christopher, Frances Ann, Matthew H, Kate Wood, George W, John W, Susannah, Amanda, Samuel Taylor, and Nancy. Matthew H Shockey, born 4 April 1852 in/near Curwensville, Clearfield Co, PA, and husband of Sarah Mary Broadhead of Reynoldsville, PA, was my great-grandfather. Their children were: Florence Elena, Ivan Richard, Fernley Thomas (my grandfather), Arden Abraham, Amy Marguarite, Edith Hannah, and Clarence Oliver. All of the children except Clarence were born in Rathmel, Jefferson Co, PA. Clarence was born in Kiskiminetas Twp, Armstrong Co, PA.

The Atkinson McKinnon Home Page
InterneTree: Frederick Stuart Atkinson On the McKinnon, Stuart and Scottish Clans sides, the heritage of Mary Queen of Scott's and the Battle of Culloden Moor and have deeply affected our Scotch family history. Because of religious persecution, battles and wars, our Scotch ancestors ended up hastily leaving Scotland, from The Isle Of Skye, on the Ark and Dove and immigrated to Prince Edward Island. The Atkinson Family Tree ancestors emigrated from Europe (England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Holland, France and Germany, Italy, Switzerland). Others came from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania in particular. This is not unusual because the Maritime Provinces were a haven for those loyal to the British Crown and setters were promised substantial land grants from the British government to move to the Maritimes after the expulsion of the Acadians. It is interesting to note that our family also includes Iroquois and/or Micmac Native American women marrying at least two separate ancestors in the US and Nova Scotia. Another ancestor came to Duxbury MA area in the 1621, on the ship that came after the Mayflower called the Fortune. On the Atkinson side, my grandfathers 5th great grandfather Benjamin Allen left New England and fought in the French and Indian War on the British side in Nova Scotia. He was badly wounded losing a leg, was discharged and sent back to New England, settling and starting a family in Kingston, MA. He later went back to Halifax, NS and joined in the ill-fated Eddy Rebellion, and after the Eddy Rebellion failed, he became a wanted man. He eventually joined the Tories in Nova Scotia during the American Revolutionary War. He would have been hung as a traitor if he returned to his home and family in Kingston, MA. We are also descended from Col. Hezekiah King and Col. Benoni Danks who were infamous participants in the Eddy Rebellion. On the Atkinson side we are related to Presidents John Adams, Samuel Adams and William Howard Taft, Poets Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Ralph Waldo Emerson, Betty Ford and singer Ann Murray to name a few. The Robert Archibald Family Home Page
ARCHIBALD family name in Nova Scotia and New Hampshire. The branch of the Archibald's that I researching descends from a John Archibald of Londonderry, Ireland who emigrated with some his family to Colonial America (specifically New Hampshire) in 1757. Four of his sons then emigrated (the Planter Migration) to Truro, Nova Scotia in 1762. I am particularly interested in any genealogical insight on this family to the present day including any research back to Ireland and perchance, to Scotland where this branch of the Archibald clan emigrated from (probably during the 1600's). Sullivan Burgess Family Tree
This page holds my family tree, which will be updated frequently. If you see someone you know, let me know. If you have information on someone, please share it with me. I have a lot of information on the Laughlin, Davy , Glendenning and Thomson lines, but the Sullivan, Burgess, Farrer, Harman, Trivett and Purchase lines need much more work. Please note that the Davy, Thomson and Glendenning pages are very large and takes time to load.

I am most interested in finding information on James Sullivan who immigrated to Canada in 1912 and left behind their families. I know it is too much to find my grandfather side of the family. (do you know how many James Sullivan's there are?) If you have any information on a James Sullivan born in England on Sept 25 in the 1870's, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! I am offering a $100.00 US reward for the first person that can find him. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the back up I have on James as to date.
