William Bassett came over in the ship FORTUNE in 1621 and settled first in Plymouth, then in Duxbury, and finally in West Bridgewater,Mass; was an original proprietor of the town and died in 1667. He was a large landholder in the colony. His wife was Elizabeth and they had six children: William, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Sarah, Ruth and Joseph.

He married Mary Ann Midgley b.July 6, 1846 in Paris. Both lived in or near Paris, Ontario. She died March 24, 1882. He died December 25, 1912 in Chatham, Ont. His father was Henry Ball - wife Elizabeth Small. I have traced them to Lambourne Berkshire England. His father was Robert, mother Sarah. DANIEL BAILEY (1799-1864) born in New York State, had two sons: His oldest son, EPHRAIM R. BAILEY, (1830-1894) never married and moved to Tama Co, Iowa in 1860 to farm. CHARLES S. BAILEY, (1843-1916) was born in St. Lawrence County, Edwards, New York on 19 July 1843. The Bailey family moved to Tama Co, Iowa around 1856 and settled in the town of Toledo. Charles enlisted into the 10th Iowa Infantry in 1861 and was discharged in 1865. Charles married Margaret E. Fisher (1844-1917) in Toledo, Iowa. They had two children, LEONA A. BAILEY (1867-1922) and FRED A BAILEY, (1870-1953). The family moved to Buffalo Co, Shelton, NE in 1873 to continue farming. FRED BAILEY married MAY E. CALKINS (1868-1898) and moved to Omaha, NE. LEONA BAILEY married NATANIAL A. SMITH (1863-1903), and moved to Dawes Co, Crawford, NE EPHRAIM stayed in Tama Co until the 1890's and died in Shelton NE in 1894. DANIEL BAILEY died in 1864 in Toledo, Iowa at the age of 64 years. DANIEL BAILEY from New York State, (1820 - 1850). He spent at least 20 years in the town of Edwards, N.Y. and remarried a second time around 1840. DANIEL could have had another son and daughter. the HIGGINS family from Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio. Edward James HIGGINS was born in 1890 and was married to Helen Anastacia HALLORAN. They had several children, one of which was my father, Thomas Edward Higgins. Edward's parents were James HIGGINS and Sarah RYAN. They had other children, as well. Helen's parents were Patrick HALLORAN and Margaret JENNINGS. Patrick and Margaret had the following children: Eugene P., Mary, Blanche, Margaret, James E., Helen Nell, and Ann. the HINZ family of Chicago, Illinois. Herbert HINZ was married to Rose Marie TRINKO. Herb's parents were Paul HINZ and Clara KLEIN. Clara was born in Berlin. Rose's father was Joseph TRINKO. Joseph was born in Austria on February 28, 1887. Rose's mother Anna CERNY was born in Chicago on February 21, 1888. Joseph's mother's maiden name was SWEDLER. Anna's mother was Marie BOUSKA. She was born in Jetetich, Bohemia on February 2, 1868. I just found out that Marie's parents were Josef Bouska, Born in Volesna, Bohemia, and Marie Kotrba, born in Jetetich, Bohemia.
