my ggggg-grandfather, James Bayles, b. 1765 in North Carolina(?). He married Rebecca Bracken b. West Virginia, on 7/1/1785 in Rockingham County, West Virginia. Their childre are: William (my gggg-grandfather), John, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Abigail, Mary Polly, Hannah, James, and Hawkins. This line of the Bales also married into a line of Bales from the Alexander Bales/ Elizabeth Stephenson line from Dorcas Bales and Thomas Benge. LILLY MARSHALL's lineage, through her maternal grandmother, appears to link to Simon de Montfort usurper of the English throne in 1265; the Plantagenet kings of England; their Norman forebear Henry I of England; Louis VI of France; Russian Grand Dukes of Kiev back to 877; Charlemagne; kings of Sweden, Norway and Finland back to the 200's; King Coel of Britain born 125 A.D.; Clodius II King of the West Franks died 20 A.D.; and other historic figures. THE MINTON's are said to be related to the famous Minton pottery/china founders in the United Kingdom. THE STRICKER's were German farmers living near the Volga River in Russia, who emigrated to Canada then to the United States.

My mother, Charlotte Brenner Himber, was also born in America, but her parents were originally from Galicia and moved here from Bremen, Germany. Martin Mellinger returned to Liditz, PA in 1863 after his medical discharge from the Army in Ohio. By 1865 Martin is in Stephenson Co, Illinois and marries Anna Sellers, also of PA. They have three daughter together, Mary, Sarah, and Emma Elizabeth. Emma and Sarah list Princeton Indiana as their place of birth. Sometime after Emma's birth in 1873, Martin and Anna divorced. In 1879 she is remarried in a Vigo Co. Census for 1880 to Chas. Calvin and living in Vigo Co. Emma Elizabeth Mellinger was my grandmother. Bob and Debbie's Family Tree: Surname List
Atkinsons of Yalobusha Co, MS
Thomas E. Atkinson, b. VA, who m. Elizabeth Martin who was born in Edgefield Co, SC. There was a Mary Victoria R. Atkinson, b. VA, who m. James Johnson who was born in VA. There was a John P. Atkinson b. VA, who married Mary Imes who was b. AL. Pinckney Atkinson m. Mary E. Brett in 1849 in Yalobusha Co, MS. She was born in SC, the child of immigrants from Ireland. Pinckney and Mary E. had 4 children: Thomas b. 1850 MS, Wiley S. (Starke)b.1852 in Torrance Station, Yalobusha Co, MS, James b. 1856 MS, and Mary Ann b.1857 in MS. In 1865 there is a court document that shows that James J. Brett (Mary E.'s brother) was made guardian for Wiley and Mary Ann. Wiley married Rosa Long, dau of Foster G. and Martha C. Long. She had sisters, Lettie, Molly and Lola. Wiley married second Mamie Fulford in Tallahatchie Co, MS where he and Rosa had moved to just before the area they lived in Yalobusha Co, was flooded to create Grenada Lake. They owned land in Tallahatchie. He became too ill to farm and they then sold the land and bought property in Rome, MS and opened a store. With Mamie he had William Joseph, b. 1892(my grandfather), an infant who died young, Wiley Pinckney and Jesse Lawrence. Wiley then died at age 49 of Bright's Disease. Descendants of Nathaniel Cobb 1745-1785. His grandson m. Luranah Teague and a gggranddaughter, Sadie m. Pat Atkinson. This Nathaniel is connected, I believe to a James Cobb who was transported as a servant to MD in 1668. His grandson, James moved to Craven Co, SC.
