Description: I am looking for my great grandfather who was born in County Clare, Ireland in 1812. He had a brother Peter who was born in 1803. They immigrated to the US in the 1830's or 1840's.
My great grandfather was married in Ann Arbor,
Michigan in 1848 to Jane Woods of County Meath.
He died in LaMoille, Illinois in1864.

Description: I am researching my husband's line. He is a Capps, coming from John S. Capps and Miriam Cole, 1810's, settled in Ktcy/Kansas. I have nothing past them. His grandmother is a Quinn, from James Quinn and Bridget Burns of Ireland 1830's, settled in Nebraska. On his mother's side we are looking for a Frederick C. Kimball of England, married Laura Newell in Michigan City, Indiana around 1875, I need info on both of them, although their children all died in San Francisco, CA. His grandfather is Harold Godfrey Hansen of Guetenburg, Sweden, died 1915, married Annie Marie Swanson also of Sweden. Their children are located in Fresno/San Francisco CA area. Any help?

Description: Searching for others connected to the Quinns of southern Donegal. Areas would be Ballintra, Laghey, Ballinakillew Mountain (Lisnapaste), The Aught, Rafoarty, possibly Ballyshannon.
My great grandfather James Quinn was born 1828 in Ballintra. He had many siblings. James came to America through Boston in 1844. He came with 4 brothers, names unknown.
James married Catherine Ann Overn (also an Irish immigrant) in 1851 in Charlestown, MA. They migrated to the Minneapolis, MN area in about 1857, where they stayed the rest of their lives.
Their 4th son, Francis Phillip "Frank" Quinn, born 1858, was my grandfather. I have the list of all their children, and also data on all of them.

Patricia Quinn Meigs
Description: James Overn was born in 1798 in Cloughenramer, County Down, Ireland. He married 1st Mary Colvin (born 1798)- date of marriage 1821. They had one son, John, born November 1822 in Newry, County Down.
Mary apparently died about 1822 and James married 2nd Ann Granger, born 1800, Cloughenramer, County Down. James and Ann had the following children: Edward, born 1826, Margaret, born 1827, Ann C. born 1828, James, born 1830, and Catherine Ann, born 23 August 1833. Catherine was born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh.
James Sr. and Edward came to America probably in 1834. Ann and the rest of the children came over in 1835, landing in Boston aboard the Schooner Congress.
James, Sr. and Ann owned a grocery store in Charlestown, MA for several years. The children all married in the Boston area: John married Mary F. Donallon, Margaret married Thomas Madden, Ann C. married John Smith, James Jr. married Honora ___, and Catherine Ann married James Quinn.
In 1857, the family (minus John) migrated west to Minnesota in a settlement party headed by Gen. James Shields. They stayed in the Minneapolis are for the remainder of their lives.
James Sr. died 30 May 1879. Ann died in 1871 of cholera. All family members are buried in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.

PLEASE! This is an IRISH family. We have no records or data pointing them to coming from Norway, Sweden or Finland. The original spelling of the name was most likely Overend, Overen, or Overin.
