Description: I am researching Mathis & Scott line in AR>MS>TN>SC(?).. this is my ggrandmother and her family.. all I have is her marriage to James Samuel McClellan 1854 Attala Co., MS where she was born.. her mother is Mary Emily Scott b abt 1812 TN , father's name unknown.. best guess is William Samuel Mathis by use of the naming celtic pattern which my family seems to follow. she has sibs by 1850 census of: Mary b abt 1832, MS; annie Eliza b. abt 1833, MS; Jesse b abt 1838, MS; & Sarah J. b abt 1842, MS. bekieve there are 2 older sib with one being Henry. father is not on the only census I have found of this family .. 1850 Attala Co.
