Chris Balston's Family Home Page
feudal Dorset and its yeoman farmers (the Balstons), to maritime Fifeshire at the time of King James 111 (the Woods, who number among their ilk the celebrated sea Admiral Sir Andrew Wood of Largo and the renowned Victorian explorer Captain John Wood), to the Tower of London in the early eighteenth century and its tipple loving Master Armourer John Grimer, and to rural Gloucestershire where my earliest traced Trinder ancestor is found farming in Bishops Cleeve, Nr. Cirencester. Later travels in time brought me to the Pinwills of Ermington, Devonshire, including The Reverend Edmund Pinwill and his seven highly talented daughters who set up their own carving business. Their ancesters included the Rashleighs of Menabilly, Cornwall including Jonathan Rashleigh of Civil War fame, made famous by Daphne Du Maurier's novel The King's General. The John Abraham Family Home Page
I am researching the ABRAHAM family. So far they all seem to have lived in Wales, specifically Cardiff. I am at present stuck on THOMAS ABRAHAM and wife SARAH living at 1 Sampsons Court, Millicent St Cardiff. They have a son, JOHN aged 5 in the 1851 census. SARAH was born in EGLWYSILAN.\r\nI am also starting on the NICHOLLS branch. They have been in the town of PORTHCAWL for quite a long time as are the last 4 generations of the ABRAHAM family. My Grandmother was a LYDIA FLORENCE NICHOLLS(b.14 June 1870) and she married THOMAS ALFRED ABRAHAM (b.Feb11 1870)a merchant seaman.\r\nHer mother was an EMMA LAMMY (LAMY) whose family ,I believe came from APPLEDORE in DEVON.\r\n |
