Description: I am looking for Mitchells with roots in Tioga County, PA. In the 1790's, three brothers settled on the banks of what is now Mitchell's Creek. They were Thomas, Richard, and Robert Mitchell. Research strongly indicates that there was another brother, James, who settled in Chemung or Steuben County, NY. Thomas left the area for??? But, Richard and Robert stayed and left large families. I have tons of info on the Richard Mitchell line. My line shoots back to Robert though.
