The James Robert Baldwin Family Home Page
Baldwin Family from Greenville County,SC. My great grandfather was James Hiram Baldwin who was born in 1846 in Greenville Co., SC. He married Susan Jane Thompson also of Greenville Co., SC. I believe his father was Eli Baldwin of Greenville Co., SC. They moved to the Van Alystyne Grayson County, Texas area. David Elder born October 14, 1793 in Lincoln Co., NC. He married a Mary Suzannah Hyde born April 12, 1799 in Macon C., N.C. This family migrated to Texas also. John Mathis Jordan, born 1827 in Alabama or NC. married Margaret Minerva Elder born 1834 in Macon Co., N.C. He died in Hopkins Co, Texas in 1874. John Lafayette Welch born abt. 1825 in Tenn. married Mary A. Gilmore born 1828 in Alabama. Wife and son Edmond Powhatan Welch migrated to Texas. William Robert Presslar born in 1878, possibly Bell County, Texas, married a Verbena Lane Havins and they lived in Erath County, Texas. William Ezekiel Peavy married Rebecca Brown in Alexandria Rapids, Louisiana in 1868. Had two children who were raised by possibly a sister. Apparently both parents died very young. James Meredith John born 1844 in Union, SC married Mary Ann Finich born 1843. They married in SC but moved to Texas. Jeanette Cooper born May 28, 1799 in Georgia and died in Troup, Texas in 1861. She married William Hulsey, Jr. born Feb. 9, 1804 in Franklin Georgia. They maried in Hall, GA.

THE MINTON's are said to be related to the famous Minton pottery/china founders in the United Kingdom. THE STRICKER's were German farmers living near the Volga River in Russia, who emigrated to Canada then to the United States.

The ATTEY-HAMPTON Family Tree Manning GLENN born in Southern Illinois in 1826. His father was Thomas B. Glenn and his mother was Alice Davis. His siblings were Elias, John, Thomas, Mary Ann ( Polly ) who married first Samuel Massey, then Leonard Woolrick and finally Elisha Adams, and Malinda who married A. J. Davis. Manning and most of his siblings lived their entire lives in Jackson County, IL. John HAMPTON died about 1818 in Rutherford County TN leaving his wife and children: John, James, Thomas, William, Richard, Mary, Rebecca, Martha, and his youngest, Isaiah who was b 1812. Isaiah m Lydia Crumpler in Bedford County TN and their children, all born in TN, were: William b 1830, Louisa b 1833, Wiley Andrew Jackson ( known as A.J. ) b 1835, James b 1837, Nancy Elizabeth b 1839, John b 1841 and Marion Lafayette b 1843. Most of the family went to Missouri in the mid 1860's. William went to IL. Louisa was married to Young Kerr and they stayed in TN. James, John and Marion later went to AR. Isaiah died in AR in about 1886.
