Description: I am researching the JACOB family of PAINSWICK, Gloustershire, England. Laurence or Lawrence Jacob was born 1712/13 and John Jacob was born 1714.
Laurence married Dianna JONES on April 12, 1749, and they had (at least) 5 children: William, Mary, Samuell (Samuell Jacob married Charlotte Webb and had (at least) 11 children), Diana, Anamariah.
John married Hester and they had three children, John (an infant who died), John (John Jacob married Namaria Jones on September 15, 1789) and Mary.
John and Namaria Jones had two children: John (died in infancy) and Edwin (the Rev. Edwin Jacob married Mary Jane Pattenson in 1818).
I am descended from Dr. Edwin Jacob and his wife, Mary Jane Pattenson. Dr. Jacob was the President of the Kings College in New Brunswick, Canada, from 1829 until his retirement in 1861.

Son Joseph Driver born about 1804 Ireland (possibly Co. Wicklow), m Mary Connor in Ireland. They had 6 children: William, Mary Jane, Ann-Maria, Sarah Jane (my great grandmother, born Co Wicklow 1838), John, and Joseph Henry-Herbert. They all emigrated to Canada in the 1850s - first to the Brockville area, then to Howick twp., Co. Huron, Ontario.
Joseph had a brother Thomas who also emigrated, his first marriage in Ireland.
Joseph died 1875 Howick twp.
We know their French Huguenot surname was different in France ie it was changed on arrival in Ireland to Driver, not in Canada.
There seems to be a connection with a Benjamin Driver of Ireland; also with Anne Driver Moodie.
