Description: My Leach ancestors moved from what is now Calvert County, Maryland to Ohio County, Kentucky in late 1790's. My oldest ancestor that I have found is John (Leach and Leitch), who was born about 1640 and died in 1699, and, according to his will, he and Alicia had four sons: John Jr., Jeremiah, Ambrose, and James. Ambrose is my line. Ambrose married Mary, maiden name unknown, and, according to his will, they had four sons: Joshua, John, Ambrose, Jr. and William. Joshua was born about 1705; John about 1708; Ambrose, Jr. about 1710; and William about 1718. Ambrose Sr. died in 1744, in Calvert County, Maryland. William is my line.

He and his wife Sara(h) were in Wabasha, MN from about 1859 through 1879. They had some children there and then moved to Brookings County, Parnell Township, South Dakota. Patrick and Sara had 12 children, 8 of which lived to adulthood. The children were John b 1859, married Bridget Killalea; Pat born about 1865, married Nellie McCarthy; Tom born about 1873 married Mollie McCarthy; Edward, single; Marry married Patrick McCaffrey; Magie born about 1861 married John O'Leary; Nora born about 1868 married Jack Killalea; Sara born about 1863, single. Maryland in 1762 when he married Jane Pearce Layton. John & Jane had 6 children in Maryland and moved to Washington Co. Kentucky by 1790. John?s family then moved to Perry Co. Missouri by 1807. John Sr. died by 1813 and Jane by 1820 in Perry Co. Missouri. My Dad family migrated to De Witt Co. Texas by 1841. My Layton family line goes back 8 generations.
