The earliest members of my family came to this country from England in 1683. Their name was Croasdale. Along the way they married into the Christian Trauger family. In Germany, Darmstadt, Hesson, the name was Dracker. Changed in translation on shipboard. They married into the John Chittick family arriving Philadelphia approximately 1825 from Ireland. They married into the Morris Morris family arriving from England in 1701 settling in what is now Quakertown. From there we married into the Hardy family from England and the Carnahan family from Scotland.

Descendants of Nathaniel Harriman (Herriman) Ontario, Canada
Nathaniel Harriman was either born in Hadley, MA or Norwich, CT in 1758. He married Bethania Snow in Hardwick, MA in 1781 and they had 9 children. We believe him to be the son of Nathaniel Harriman b. Oct 9, 1723,the brother of Jonathan b. 1753, the grandson of Matthew Harriman born August 16, 1652 and the great grandson of Leonard Harriman. Nathaniel received a land grant of 200 acres near the town of Cobourg, Hamilton Township, Northumberland County, Ontario (then called Hamilton in Upper Canada) on September 1, 1797. He may have been referred to as a Simcoe Loyalist. We have recently added information on his brother, Jonathan who moved from Vermont to Sandy Creek, NY. Diadamia was the youngest daughter of Nathaniel and Bethania. She was reported to be stolen from the lake shore near Cobourg, Ontario by Mississauga Indians on June 7, 1797 just 4 weeks after the family arrived from Rupert, Vermont. A poem written by Bethania entitled The Lost Child was meant to tell her parents, Jesse and Mary Snow,(nee Eaton)in Hardwick, MA, about the loss of Diadamia. Nathaniel, his second son, is the direct line ascendant to the author. He was a well respected person and served in the Provincial Dragoons during the war of 1812 -1815. His younger brother, Luther, was also in the Canadian Militia during that war. Luther then became a physician and was married twice; the first to Sarah White (5 children) (Sarah may have died as a result of childbirth complications) and the second to Abigail Dean. That marriage produced 7 children. Two sons, Weston Leroy and Elbridge also became physicians. After serving on the Union side during the Civil War, as surgeons, they both returned to establish practices in Lindsay, Ontario. Elbridge then moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota some time after 1879. The Harriman History (Feudalism to Freedom)by Lois Ware Thurston,comments on the Harriman Name. The name Harriman was not uncommon in England, suggesting there was no one Harriman family, but several unrelated families with the same name. Some of the earliest Harriman records were found in Uldale and it was only in these records that another Harriman with the Christian name Leonard was found. Uldale is in Cumberland County (the Lake District) in Northern England near the Scottish border (and recent center of the outbreak of foot and mouth disease) There are variant spellings of Harriman, Herriman, Harryman, Herryman, as in those days people often spelt a name the way it sounded. Charles W. Bardsley, author of ?A Dictionary of English and Welsh Surnames?, claims the name Harryman is an occupational name meaning servant of Henry which when spoken sounds like Harry?. When the Harriman?s left Uldale it was likely to find a better way of life, rather than religious freedom. Leonard and John Harriman found themselves caught up in the Great Migration of the 1630's. and arrived with Reverend E Rogers in New England in 1638. They set out from Rawley, Yorkshire, England. ancestors and descendants of George Morris who lived in Hanover County VA prior to the Revolutionary War, then moved to Louisa County VA with his family. He died around 1786 in Louisa County, VA. He had children named David Morris, Samuel Morris, Isaac Morris who married Ann Dickerson Smith, Mary Morris who married Wingfield Cosby, Anna Morris who married Giles Harding, George Morris who married Sarah Biggers and then Susannah Graves, who was the daughter of Richard Graves, Joshua Morris and John Morris. I am descended from the second George and his wife Susannah. This George was born in 1763 in Hanover VA and died in May 1853. Their son, Tandy Graves Morris married Harriett Elizabeth Mills. Around 1853, Tandy and Harriett moved with their family to Henry County TN. One son, Henry Thomas Morris, married Mary Louisa McGehee in Henry Co, TN in 1854. Louisa was the daughter of William McGehee, Jr., formerly of Louisa County, VA. Other children of Tandy and Harriett are Amanda J. Morris who married a Chiles, Tandy, Jr., George Nathaniel Morris, Mary F Morris, Harriet Morris, Lucy Morris, William Dabney Morris, and John Morris.

Meiners Family from Kenton Co., Kentucky. Wilhelm H. Meiners first appears in the 1880 Census. The first child of Wilhelm H. Meiners and Anna Maria Catharina Kohne was born in 1878. His name was Henry of Harry George Meiners. I know Wilhelm and Anna imigrated from Germany some time before that. They had three other sons, Philip Ulrich, John Joseph, and William Henry Meiners. Morris-Hawkins family of Western Kentucky. Clinton MacCauley Morris was married to Iva Indiana Hawkins. I know that Clinton died around 1935. Iva died in 1967 or 1968. They had three sons, Francis, Milton, and Clinton. Francis was born in Earlington, Ky. in 1908 or 1909. There were also several daughters. They were Virginia Marie, Charlotte Miranda, Ruth Hazel, Anna Lee, Barbara, and Ola B. Benjamin Franklin Moore. He was born in Livingston Co., Ky. in the 1870's or 1880's. He married Julia Etta Crank Rose in Illinois. They lived in Harrisburg, Ill. at the timee of their deaths in the 1950's. Benjamin ran a store. I know his parents were H. F. Moore and Elvira Lemmons or Leming. They were married in Caldwell or Lyons Co. in Kentucky. My husband's great-great grandparents. Addison Ball and Abigail Adaline Robbins. They lived in southern Kentucky at the time of their deaths. They had a son named Joshua Linzy Ball who married Nancy Jane Hazelwood. Their son Major Thompson Ball married Virginia Lee Baker. his mother's side. Her parents were Sheridan Riddle and Fannie Gadd. They lived in Fairview, Ky. Fannie died in 1953. Sheidan died in the early 1970's.

William moved to Leake Co, MS in 1843, and later to Texas. Married to Elizabeth Whittington and after her death to Mary Madden. Died in Kaufman Co, in 1899. William and Elizabeth's children were: Salome Amanda (Neill), Taylor, and Matilda Miranda (Crecelius). William and Mary's children were William Lewis, Mary (Byrnes), Harvey Gill, Ferdinand Roswell, Callie (Bolster), Jesse Eugene, Sam Neill and Everette John. Ferdinand married Nancy Elizabeth Elliott in Independence, TX, in 1886. Children of Ferdinand and Nancy are: Minnie Mae (Kilgore), Callie Mae (Greenway), Jesse Thomas, John Wesley, James Franklin, Bessie Lee (Williamson), Fred, Willie Mae (Hendrix), Lewis B., Norman Elliott, and Edna Cleta (Cody). William Henry LASSETER, was born April, 1853, in DECATUR County, GA, married in 1877 to Sophronia Eudora PARKER, who was born November, 1857, in Mitchell County, GA. They lived in Valdosta, GA, and Dawson, GA. William is likely the son of James Lasseter and Harriet Blount Lasseter who were married in Decatur Co., in 1852. James may be the son of John Lasseter, b. 1808 in GA and Julia Bird b. abt. 1816. James was born April 15, 1833, in Decatur Co., GA. William and his family moved to Dallas, Texas in early 1900s. William is rumored to have a brother named Thomas or Tom LASSETER who also moved to Texas and later moved back to GA settling in the Moultrie area. Children of William are: James Louis Lasseter, Ethel Lasseter Favors, Horace (Hoy) Lasseter, Emmett Earl Lasseter and Sadie Eudora Lasseter Stepter. Richard Bandy was born in Liverpool, England in 1715-1720 and emigrated to Virginia. He married Mahala Jane CUMMINGS. He died in Botetout Co. VA in 1795. Children were: Thomas, Richard, John, and George. Thomas was born 1747/1748 in Cumberland, VA, married Nancy Vanover Burns in 1777 and died in 1835 in Sumner County, TN. Thomas had a son named Horatio (AKA Horasha). One of Horasha's children was James Bandy, who was the father of Anderson Bandy. Anderson's son was Benjamin. Benjamin's daughter was my grandmother, Lucinda Priscilla Bandy. Family moved to Illinois and then to Texas, settling in Ellis County. JAMES BERRY MORRIS, was born July 07, 1853 in Missouri or in Middle Tennesee and died June 22, 1925 in Dallas, TX. He married FIDIE CALVIN STARK, of Morrilton, Arkansas, the daughter of CALVIN STARK. Fidie died June 27, 1938. Their child was MARIE NAOMI MORRIS, b. October 27, 1900, Dallas, TX; d. February 25, 1969, Austin, TX. Marie was married to EMMETT EARL LASSETER and they had one child DORIS EARLINE LASSETER BALDWIN, b. May 24, 1921, Dallas, TX, d. May 30, 1986, San Antonio, TX.
