Presently I am researching my maternal ancestors: the Beairds of MO and formerly KY, the Austin Dunlap family of OK, IA and NY, and the Betsingers of NY. I have enjoyed writing up biographies of our various ancestral lines for our five children, and have given them booklets on the Beairds, Thatchers, and Shellabargers, as well as my husband's and my autobiographies.\r\n\r\n |

My elusive ancestor William Lisenby(Lisenbee)Gainey and I have been playing chase now for two years. I have yet to find out who his parent's were. He changed his surname from Lisenby to Gainey and back again several times over his life. I am also looking for his grave site. My other elusive ancestor Thomas Dan Carroll and I are also playing chase and I can\t find his parent's either. The story is that he may have been an orphan. If anyone out there has any information on these people or any others listed in my file, please share your information.
