KERR'S parents were Young Francis KERR and Louisa M J HAMPTON of Carroll Co. TN. Jacob Thomas Deal was born in Catawba Co. NC in Nov 1816; he married Lavinia RUDISILL in NC. They later migrated to MS and then to Prairie Co. AR. After Lavinia died, he married Emeline Adeline Josephine Catherine ANDERSON. Catherine ANDERSON'S parents were Cornelius ANDERSON and Etta Mittie QUEEN of Wilkes Co. NC. They migrated to Murray Co. GA and then to Cobb Co. GA; and later to MS and Prairie Co. AR. George BASS and his sister Nancy Caroline BASS are in the 1880 Census of Lonoke Co. AR. His age is 31 and hers is 25. They are both born in TN. Elizabeth DUNCAN, 1/4 Cherokee is the mother of William SMITH, b. 1816. His daughter Ann Elizabeth SMITH married Benjamin Franklin ELLIS. Any information on Elizabeth DUNCAN and William SMITH would be appreciated. She may be the Elizabeth Harriette Duncan, child of Charles DUNCAN and Mahala ABERCROMBIE. Charles DUNCAN is the son of Dorcas Lightfoot and Young Charles Gordon DUNCAN. William MC ELYEA was born in 1758 in York Co. PA. He served in the Revolutionary War. He moved into Franklin Co. IL about 1820 with his family. His grandson, William Barton MC ELYEA was born in 1842 in Franklin Co. IL. It is presumed that this family moved to Ozark, Christian Co. MO after 1860. |

Barcom from Wisconsin and Canada, Meier later changed to Meyer from Wisconsin decended from John Meier in Germany, Johnston from the West Monroe, Oswego County New York area and the Sheboygan County Wisconsin area and Zettel from Wisconsin decended from Sebastian Zettel of Germany, the area of Bavaria. The name Barcom stems from the French name Berthiuame and is spelled by some branches as Barcomb, Barcome and several others. Zettel is sometimes spelled Zettl. Sebastian, Maria and their three children settled in Leroy, Wisconsin. Son Joseph later moved to West Bend, Washington, Wisconsin while daughter Maria, Teresa and son Xaver remained in the Leroy area . Joseph's son Albert settled in Baron, Wisconsin while the rest of his children remained in the West Bend area. Johan Meier settled in Washington County Wisconsin and his children settled primarily in the West Bend and Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Morris Family of Virginia and Tennessee
ancestors and descendants of George Morris who lived in Hanover County VA prior to the Revolutionary War, then moved to Louisa County VA with his family. He died around 1786 in Louisa County, VA. He had children named David Morris, Samuel Morris, Isaac Morris who married Ann Dickerson Smith, Mary Morris who married Wingfield Cosby, Anna Morris who married Giles Harding, George Morris who married Sarah Biggers and then Susannah Graves, who was the daughter of Richard Graves, Joshua Morris and John Morris. I am descended from the second George and his wife Susannah. This George was born in 1763 in Hanover VA and died in May 1853. Their son, Tandy Graves Morris married Harriett Elizabeth Mills. Around 1853, Tandy and Harriett moved with their family to Henry County TN. One son, Henry Thomas Morris, married Mary Louisa McGehee in Henry Co, TN in 1854. Louisa was the daughter of William McGehee, Jr., formerly of Louisa County, VA. Other children of Tandy and Harriett are Amanda J. Morris who married a Chiles, Tandy, Jr., George Nathaniel Morris, Mary F Morris, Harriet Morris, Lucy Morris, William Dabney Morris, and John Morris. |

Michele Roelofs' Family Tree
From my paternal grandmother's side, our first ancestor to come to this country was Ephraim Jackson. He emigrated from Macclesfield, Cheshire, England in 1684 and settled in Bucks County, PA. Nicholas Newlin was much more than a small landowner/farmer. He was a member of the Provincial Council of Pennsylvania from 1685-1688; and Justice of the Courts of Chester County 1685-1691. He built and operated a grist mill in Concord Township. The 1694 tax assessment for the Concord Mill was ten pounds. Abner Alonzo Protzman was employed as a Secretary for the YMCA from 1899 to 1915. From 1899 to 1903 or 1904 he was the Assistant Secretary for District of Columbia YMCA. In 1903 or 1904 to around 1905 he was the General Secretary for the Chester, PA YMCA. There is no record of his status in 1906. In 1907 or 1908 to 1911 he was the General Secretary for Portland, ME YMCA. And in 1911 to 1915, the General Secretary for Muncie, IN YMCA. From my maternal grandfather's side: John Chew came to Virginia in the Ship Charity or Chartie in 1621 or 1622 and his wife Sarah came about a year later in the Sea Flower. Both were living at Hog Island, opposite Jamestown, in 1624 (Hotten's Emigrants, Pate 237). He was a merchant and was evidently a man of substance since he owned a house at Jamestown shortly after his arrival, as is shown by a grant in 1624 to John Chew, merchant, of one rood, nine poles, near his dwelling house in James City (Va. Mag., I. 87). In 1636, he had grants for some 1200 acres in the County of Charles River, later called York County and had probably been living in that locality for some years previously. (Va. Mag., V.341-342). He represented Hog Island in the Virginia House of Burgesses 1623-1624 and 1627 and was a member for York County 1642-1644 (Colonial Va. Register, pgs. 53, 54, 63). He was also one of the justices of York County in 1624 and 1652 (Va. Mag., I.197). His first wife Sarah died before 1651 and in that year he executed a deed (recorded in York County) in view of his intended marriage with Mrs. Rachel Constable (Va. Mag., I. 197). His sons Samuel and Joseph CHEW are mentioned in the York County Records 1657 and 1659 respectively, and it appears from the same records that in 1668 John Chew was dead and his son Samuel was living in Anne Arundel Co., Maryland.
