The Odaka Family Home Page
My grandfather's name was Juji Odaka who immigrated from Chiba-ken, Japan. His wife was Tami Kobayashi. They had left one daughter in Japan, thinking they would return after making their fortunes in Hawaii. Her last name is Sakuma. First name is unknownLife in Ewa Plantation on Oahu was difficult and they could not save enough money to return to Japan. They started a new family. Their oldest son, Robert Odaka died in World War II, in Okinawa. Second son, Chimaki Odaka is my father. Third son was Kiyoshi Odaka. Daughter Tokiko Odaka (aka: Virginia) married Shoichi Abe. The youngest son was Kaname Odaka (aka: George Odaka).Only Chimaki Odaka and Kiyoshi Odaka had children.Chimaki Odaka had two daughters (Jane & Linda ) and one son (Glenn).Kiyoshi Odaka, married a woman of Hawaiian heritage and we had minimal contacts while growing up. At that time, they lived in remote Waianae, Oahu. He had sons Robert, Phillip, and David. The whereabouts of Robert and David are unknown.I am just starting and have not developed information other than from what I remember and know today (3/7/98). Our family is small and we grew up not knowing our cousins who lived in Hawaii or in Chiba-ken, Japan.

Still Searching for the Ancestry of John ATTEBERRY
Still in Search of our Grandfather John ATTEBERRY, ~ new site ~ said to have been born circa 1878 ~ 1889 John Atteberry's UNKNOWN parents may have been living in Springfield, Missouri in 1927! And actually I think John was lying when he testified this because it is likely that John's parents were John Albert ATTERBERRY and Lydia C. STACKS or SWARTS and John Albert was residing in Oklahoma. According to the 1930 census, John ATTEBERRY served in WWI !! However, we do not know where & cannot find draft record. It is possible that he enlisted. We still do not know "for sure" that his parents may have been John Albert and Lydia but I am 99.9% sure! I Often wonder when and where he died! Thought for today and every day: Will we EVER find our John ATTEBERRY???
