Edward W. O'Toole, born 3/15/1898 in Grand Rapids, MI. his parents were Tom and Clara. His grandmother, Catherine McNamara O'Toole, was born in 1844 in County Clare, Ireland, and came to the U.S. with her parents in 1849. They moved to Grand Rapids about 1856. Her father was Michael McNamara. She had 8 children. Three were still living in 1944, Margaret (Gavin), William, and Catherine (Gepford). Edward had two sisters, Marion (Burns), born 3/22/1900, the other might have been named Lillian (deceased). They were raised/schooled at St. James Catholic Church on Bridge St. In early 1930's Edward married Jeanette Connell. They lived in Lansing, MI until their deaths in the 1960's. I am their only daughter. |

Nicolae Olteanu was born in Inghesu, Romania. After he was married and had a family, he travelled to Canada, landing in Halifax Port and continued his travelling to Saskatchewan. He secured a job as a construction worker building hotels in Saskatchewan when he sent for his wife and children. My great grandmother Mary (Maraloi) Olteanu was also born in Inghesu, Romania and travelled over with four children, Max, Nora, John and Victoria (my grandmother Victoria Albu was a babe in arms at the time). Mary landed in Halifax Port April 15th, 1906. When she made it to Saskatchewan, she heard the news that Nicolae had died in a construction accident.
