The Allens of Rhode Island and Eastern Townships of Quebec
William Allin b. 1640 of England came to Prudence Island in Rhode Island about 1660.\r\n\r\nWilliam's great great grandson Samuel Reynolds Allen and his new wife Pamelia (Mila) Dee settled in Stanbridge Township in Missquoi County in Quebec about 1810. Pamelia's father Elijah Dee fought in the Revolutionary War and in the French and Indian war as Elijah Davol of Connecticut. Samuel's mother Mary Reynolds\ ancestors came on the Mayflower.\r\n\r\nSamuel Reynolds Allen's son Sylvester Jackson Allen came to Bolton Township Brome County Quebec in 1842. Sylvester Jackson Allen and his second wife Eleanor Turner were my great grand parents.\r\n |

Birthplace may have been Homer NY. James M. Ormes helped found Southern Bell Tel Co, and laid first transatlantic telephone cable. James married Mary Hubbard of Brimfield MA. Deforest married Lura Lockwood daughter of Belva Lockwood, first woman to run for president.\r\n\r\nNewton S. Hubbard (b: 12/19/1816 died 1897 in Brimfield MA), father of Mary Hubbard. He married Sarah Puffer and lived in Brimfield MA.\r\n\r\nThomas Davenport, came from England before 1840 to Dorchester MA where he became town constable, father of Charles Davenport and other children.\r\n |

The Lee, Peddicord, Eustace, and Davenport families all at some time lived in Virginia. The Lee's are supposed to be descended from Col. Richard Lee. The Wells and Plemmons Families lived mostly in North Carolina. I have a book about the Plemmons family that says they are descended from a man named Jacob Plehman who came to america from Ireland in 1749. The problem is I am not sure I am related to this branch of the family so any information would be helpful. The Adair and Hewes lived in West Virginia and Maryland. |

I have a lot of information on the Laughlin, Davy , Glendenning and Thomson lines, but the Sullivan, Burgess, Farrer, Harman, Trivett and Purchase lines need much more work. Please note that the Davy, Thomson and Glendenning pages are very large and takes time to load.
I am most interested in finding information on James Sullivan who immigrated to Canada in 1912 and left behind their families. I know it is too much to find my grandfather side of the family. (do you know how many James Sullivan's there are?) If you have any information on a James Sullivan born in England on Sept 25 in the 1870's, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
