The Bernhard Ardowski's of South Plainfield, NJ
Bernhard Ardowski (Ordowski) arrived in the US from Sewesenti, Poland (Russia) on 19Dec1905 through Ellis Island. He later married Aleksandra Bernatowicz. This was an pre-arranged marriage to enable her to stay in America. Ellis Island records show Bernhard's last name as Ordowski, and I have not yet found when it was changed to Ardowski. His 2 sisters Jusefa and Adele are also listed on Ellis Island passenger records as arriving in 1907 with a last name of Ordowsky. |

I have traced the family back to 1515, Ololus Custer, Kaldenkirchen, Germany. The Custer family apparently starts there. No one has come up with a Custer ancester older than that. John and Susannah Custer descendants. They were the first Mercer County (Custer) settlers. John and Susannah's son Peter. Peter had a son named Joseph. Joseph had a son named James S. James S. had a son named Albert. Albert had a son named Elba. Elba had a son named Rolland. And I am Rolland's daughter. THE ADGER STORY
The first Adger ancestor known at this time (2000) is James Adger. He was born in 1742 in County Antrim, Ireland and died in Dunean, County Antrim, Ireland, Province Ulster. James Adger was a linen manufacturer and had his mill and bleaching green in Dunean. He is buried in the Old Episcopal Church Yard in Dunean and the tombstone bears this inscription:\r\n'Here Lies The Body of\r\nJAMES ADGER\r\nWho Died March 25th, 1783\r\nAged 41 Years.'\r\nTo quote Ellison Moultrie Adger(1875-1945) 'My Great Grandfather's brother, James Adger ll,(1777-1858) said the Adger family were of French decent and Huguenot Refugees who went to Ireland and Scotland from France after the Edict of Nantes was set aside. He claimed that our ancestors fought at the battle of London-Derry in 1689.' Quoting from John Bailey Adger's(1810-1899)book, 'My Life and Times'\r\nThe Adger's seem to have gravitated to the southern part of America after immigrating and in particular South Carolina and Louisiana. The early American Adger Ancestors were very diversified in their interest. They were large land owners, Phoshphate mine owners, shipping and railway line developers and builders. The Adger Wharf still stands in Charleston, South Carolina. They,or branches of their treLucie Barton Adger |

ADAMS ADAIR CHAMBERS SHAIFFER RHINEHART WALLACE GENEALOGY
All of the names I am researching lived at one time in North Louisiana. Most of them originated in Catahoula Parish. Some migrated to Shreveport and others to Arkansas. Others stayed in the Central Louisiana area. The Chambers lived in Marthaville, Natchitoches Parish, then moved to East Texas, Shreveport, and southern Arkansas. I am looking for the Shaiffers. They seemed to disappear into thin air after leaving Catahoula Parish. Some of the Adairs moved to the Shreveport-Bossier area. \r\nPartriarch Joseph Adair settled in East Carroll Parish where Joe's Bayou flowed into Bayou Macon. At one time, Joseph also lived in Concordia Parish. His children were John, David, Martha, Sidney, Sarah, and a daughter who was suspected to have been kidnapped by Indians when an infant. She was the first born. \r\nJohn's children were Johnathan Marion, Mary Malinda, James, Richard Harding, Thomas, and William.\r\nJohnathan's children were Martha Euretta, Marshall Newman, Richard Randolph, Johnathan F., and Mary Malinda.\r\nMartha Euretta m. Jason Mahoney Wallace. They were my maternal grandparents. They lived in Shreveport, Louisiana. Their descentants are still living and shall not be mentioned here.\r\n\r\nDave Barry and Nancy Raines Chambers lived iRobert Adams |

I have a little on that side. But no farther than her parents and siblings names. \r\n |
