STACEY came to Monroe and Conecuh Counties from South Carolina. My line is coming from George& Elizabeth Stacey, Their second son George Washington Stacey, his son William Wesley Stacey, and his son John James Wesley Stacey that married Amanda Stabler. they were married on December 5, 1878 in Monroe County. Amanda was born in 1857. She and her husband are buried in Deer Cornith Cemetery in Franklin, Al. Monroe County. Her sister Christian Augusta married A. Daniel, and the other sister Clarissa was never married. |

Eckel Family History
Valentine Eckel who originated from Neider-wiessen, Germany around 1660. Most of the Eckels that I have found were born in or around Wendelsheim, Hessen, Germany. This branch of my family lived in Germany until sometime in the late 1700's or early 1800's. Andreas Eckel Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Nagel moved to Philadelphia, PA. My Great^6 Uncle was William Eckel was rhe Superintendent of the State House Steeple, Independece Hall, Philadelphia, PA. It is said that he gave the final decision to drill the hole in the Liberty Bell so that they could ring the bell, which in turn cause the famous crack. |
