my mother's maiden name was Evans (Florence Mary), Florence (my Nan)'s father was called Edward Evans he was born in Coedpoeth, Nr Wrexham probably around 1859, he moved upto Stanley, Near Lanchester, Co.Durham looking for work (he was a coal miner). There he met his second wife (the first wife i don't know her name, but she has died - he was a widower) his second wife's name was Elizabeth Gotts they were married in October 1909 in Stanley Parish Church, Elizabeth's father was called Thomas. Simon Thelwell married Janet Langford of Ruthin (North Wales). they are decendants of Sir Richard Thelwall of Thelwall Cheshire. |
