The Beatys and Littles of Ireland and India
BEATY I am researching the BEATY family, originally from Ireland. From family folklore Francis BEATY was born in Tullamore, Ireland in 1757 . Francis and his wife Catherine gave birth to three sons, John, Francis and Henry, probably in Stoke Damerel, Devon, while he served in the Royal Navy. In 1820 Francis and 1821 Henry, joined the Honourable East India Company Army as Cadets in Bengal, India. The elder son of Francis, named Francis Henry BEATY, and his wife Caroline Ophelia (n?e Sheels), had fifteen children all born in India. Five of the sons served in the Indian Police. The Beaty family finally left India in 1948. The cities in India and Pakistan that feature in the family history are Lahore, Jhansie, Karachi, Landour, Mussoorie, Quetta, Rawlpindi and Simla. LITTLE/LYTTLE I am also researching the LITTLE/LYTTLE family from Northern Ireland. In 1839 Andrew LITTLE was born in the Parish of Montiaghs, Lurgan, County Armagh, Northern Ireland, to Thomas and Mary (n?e Wilson) LITTLE. In 1858 he joined the 27th Inniskilling Regiment and sailed to India. He remained in India and retired from the army in 1894. He died in Dehra Dun, India in 1926. He had five children Mary Anne, Thomas Wilson, William John (my grandfather) Edward and Andrew. The surname spelling changed to LYTTLE with the children. The cities in India/Pakistan that feature in the family history are Dehra Dun, Jhansie, Karachi,Lahore, Meerut, North West Province,Peshawar and Simla. Donna Arbatosky originally married David Crum of Beaverdale, PA. She had 3 children to him, Kimberly Ann, Ronald Arthur, Mark James. They divorced in 1965 and she had a child to Gary Duffy, named Robert Mitchell Duffy. She later married Edward William Itell 1967. He adopted Mark James Crum and changed his name to Mark James Itell, and Robin Maried Itell was born to Donna & Bill. Donna and Bill (Edward) Itell moved from Portage, PA to Valparaiso, Indiana in 1978, as Bill's job at Bethlemhem Steel in Johnstown, had relocated him due to the Johntown Flood. The Marshal Billy Ray Alday Family from Desser to Iowa
John Allday who married Elizabeth Perrin appox 1695 in Henrico Co, Vir. John was born before 1660 as he witnessed a Benjamin Hatcher deed in Oct 1681. He was left 10 shillings in the will of Thomas Howell in 1697. He witnessed the will of Robert Hancock in 1708. He purchased land on Cornelius Creek in Dec 1697. He still had that land in Sept of 1712. John died sometime between Sept 1712 and Mar 1715. His widow, Elizabeth, who is the daughter of Thomas and Anne Perrin, had married by Mar 1715, Seth Hatcher. Elizabeth and Seth moved around 1720 and settled in Orangebury Twp, Berkeley Co, SC. Elizabeth died shortly after Sept 1748. Elizabeth and Seth had two children, Sarah who married 1st John Fuster and 2ed John Clayton and Rachel who married Emanuel Mineor. These would be the Alday's half sisters. I have the children of John Allday and Elizabeth Perrin as: #1 JOHN who was born appox 1695. He witnessed a deed of Seth Hatcher and his mother Elizabeth in Jun 1716. He did the inventory of Philip Martin in May of 1717. This John also witnessed a deed of his aunt (Martha Cardwell) in Aug 1729. This John Allday gave land in Feb 1744/5 to his DAUGHTER MARY, wife of John Williams and then to their son John Williams. |
