Janna L Babcock - InterneTree my father's family, the Martins were from Lewiston, Maine. His mother's maiden name was Dulac. Her mother's maiden name was Arnoldy. Their families came from France to Quebec and Acadia in the 1600's and 1700's. my mother's family, surname Kvernvik. They came from Norway in 1906. Her mother came from Norway around that time also, my grandmother's surname was Mathisen. My husband's family is also from Maine. The Babcock's settled in Bangor. His paternal great grandmother was a decendent of Abraham Somes who settled in Somesville on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, in the late 1700's. My husband's mother's family, the Ernst's came from Brooklyn, New York, and Switzerland. Maxwell Pfiester, Frederick's son, born June 6, 1888 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, in the 1920 U.S. Federal Census for Eaton Rapids Township, Eaton County, Michigan. This census reported his children as Eva, Donald, Frecerick, Dean and Charles. |

Jacob Wagner, born sometime between 1797 and 1800, in Germany and Margaret Dietrich, his wife, born 1802-1812, also in Germany. It is believed that they were in Pendleton Co. VA and then Barbour Co. VA(WV). They also had 9 children: Mary, Lydia (supposedly twins) , Susan, Elizabeth, John, Algernon (my great-great-grand-father), Philip, George and David Henry, who is believed to have gone west around 1860. My grandfather is Marvin Jones of Missouri Valley, IA. Born in June of 1921. He married Martha Elizabeth Smith in 1942 and they had 5 children: Patricia, Shirley, Alice, Ada, and Marvin Jr. Martha passed away in November of 1978, leaving two brothers, Earl and Robert Smith. She also had two sisters, Emma and Marjorie.\r\n\r\nMarvin's father was George Franklin Jones, born in April, 1889 in Modale, Iowa . He was a World War 1 veteran and was a farmer. He married Alice Golden of Harrison County Iowa and they resided in Modale.\r\n\r\nGeorge's parents were Samuel Thomas Jones and Hannah E. Matteson of Carrollton, Il. George had many siblings: Cora A., John Richard, Henry T., Silvea (Dollie), and Hannah L.\r\n\r\nHannah E. died at the young age of 35 during childbirth with Hannah L. Hannah L. passed away approximately 4 months later.\r\n\r\nSamuel and Hannah married in Macoupin County, IL in 1880. They came to Iowa by covered wagon and all their children were born in the Modale area. \r\n\r\nSamuel, Hannah E., and Hannah L. are buried in the Magnolia town cemetary.\r\n\r\nSamuel's parents were Thomas Richard Jones and Jane Butcher.
