Description: My 4th great grandfather, Johannes Zulauf (1753-1838) arrived in America on 15 Aug 1776 with Hessian troops. He was captured, held POW in Reading Pa., married and lived near Reading 1783-1792, lived in York Co. Pa. until 1802, lived and died in Juniata Co., buried near Port Royal, Juniata Co. He changed his name to Sulouff and some sons changed their name to Suloff. History of Johannes Zulauf's life has been published in Journal of the Johannes Schwalm Historical Assn., (1996 and 1997) and in A Sulouff and Suloff Family History (2001), Lib.
