MY MOTHER'S FAMILY: Ferdinand Johann Friedrich Olp (b.8-26-1807, in Wollin, Pommern); d. 9-30-1892 in Manitowoc Cty., WI). His wife,Friederike Dorothea Charlotte, (born Strege) in Chinow, Kreis Lauenburg, Pommern on 9-17-1808, d. 1-26-1882. They were married in 1832 in Pommern. Both are buried at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CEMETERY, Cooperstown Twp., Manitowoc Co., WI. They emigrated with 8 of their 9 children in 1849. After 5 yrs. in the Milwaukee area, Ferdinand bought 160.00 acres in Manitowoc County in 2-22-1858 (grant on file with signature). Sixth son, Robert Olp (my great-great-grandfather) and Mathilda Nass from Maple Grove township, Manitowoc county, WI had 8 children, including my grandfather, Otto Julius William. Mathilda Nass, daughter of Gottlieb J.F. Nass (b.3-2-1806; d.9-19-1892) and Ernestine F.C. Wegner, (b. 12-7-1818; d. 12-16-1892) They are buried together. Land patents with dates and signatures also available for Nass sons: August, Christ, Herman, Louis and Ever J. Gottlieb Zeise and Elizabeth Bartch, sons (see below)Johann, Karl, Ernest W. Buckwintke (Buchenwerder), Oels, Silesia, Germany. Buckowintke (11-29-1935 changed to Buckenwerder) village, Oels (administrative district), Schlesian (province of Silesia) became part of Poland. In 1997, this area is identified as Olesnica on Polish maps. The former village of Buckenwerder was located in the uppermost part of northern Oels. Johann Gottlieb Zeise and Johanna Dorothea Wurm. Emigrated 1875 with seven children, where two more were born. They farmed in Deerfield Township, Steele County, until 1914, when they retired from farming and moved to Owatonna, MN. Karl Zeise. Emigrated, but returned to Germany. Ernest W. Zeise (my great-grandfather) married Anna Rosena Tischer in 1869 in Owatonna, Steele County, Minnesota. They had 5 children: Rudolph, Minnie (my grandmother, married to Otto Julius William Olp), Bertha, August, Anna E. MY FATHER'S FAMILY: Ferdinand Ballenthin and Friedericke Peters (Germany) Parents to: Johann, Ottilia, Hermine, Heinrich, Augusta Ballenthin Johann Ballenthin (b.1-3-1869;d.11-1948) and Emma Glienke (b.Abt. 1876;d.5-1914), 2nd wife Martha Glienke GroB Schwirsen, Rummelsburg, Pommern, Germany Other surnames from this branch: Kruggel, Lieder Did not emigrate. 14 children including Herman (my father) who emigrated in 1924, and Willi who emigrated in 1930 - both to Rice County, MN. Other children who did not emigrate: Frieda, Ehrich, Martha, Otto, Elli, Hans, Walter, Else, Meta, Gertrude, Erna, Gerhard. Ottilia Ballenthin (sister to Johann) and Carl Sorgatz (mother, Ernistine) Emigrated from Germany 1890. Settled in Rice County, Minnesota. 9 children. Eldest, Anna Augusta Louise married Christian Frederich A. Fuchs III 11-2-1911 in North Morristown, MN. Anna was born in Wussowke Treblin, Pommern, Germany. Other children: Augusta, Frederick, Carl F. Jr., Otto, Bertha, Emma, Erna. Heinrich Ballenthin (brother to Johann)(b.1859; d.1933), Wocknin, Rummelsburg, Pommern, Germany, and Hilda Bauermann (b.1863; d.1943)Falkenhagen, Rummelsburg, Pommern, Germany Parents to: Otto, Max (b.1896), Ottilie, Richard, Paul Ballenthin . Did not emigrate. Max Ballenthin (b.1896;d.1945) Wocknin, Rummelsburg, Germany, and Hedwig Groth (b.1904;d.1984)Lichthal, Rummelsburg, Germany. Parents to: Gerhard, Kurt
