She was born in Polo, Ogle Co. Illinois. 1872. Her father was Thomas VAN SWEARINGEN, born 1841 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Her mother was Josephine SHORT, daughter of John SHORT. She was born in Bloomington, Illinois. The VAN SWEARINGENS and the STONERS moved to Florida around 1915, I think. |

Barcom from Wisconsin and Canada, Meier later changed to Meyer from Wisconsin decended from John Meier in Germany, Johnston from the West Monroe, Oswego County New York area and the Sheboygan County Wisconsin area and Zettel from Wisconsin decended from Sebastian Zettel of Germany, the area of Bavaria. The name Barcom stems from the French name Berthiuame and is spelled by some branches as Barcomb, Barcome and several others. Zettel is sometimes spelled Zettl. Sebastian, Maria and their three children settled in Leroy, Wisconsin. Son Joseph later moved to West Bend, Washington, Wisconsin while daughter Maria, Teresa and son Xaver remained in the Leroy area . Joseph's son Albert settled in Baron, Wisconsin while the rest of his children remained in the West Bend area. Johan Meier settled in Washington County Wisconsin and his children settled primarily in the West Bend and Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Their children were Ralph, Albert, Marie, Bert, and JW. Quite a few of the Levick's moved to Washington State in the late 1920's and early 1930's. Fred's parents were HENRY HARRY LEVICK & ELIZABETH CAROLINE WEARE. Henry's parents were ALFRED & MARY Levick. When Alfred came over from England he settled in Scott County, Illinois. He later moved to Seneca, Nemaha Co, KS. McFaddens from Oklahoma, Kansas(late 1800's), Indiana(in the early 1800's to late 1800's) and Kentucky & Virginia(in the 1700's). My great-grandfather was William Mcfadden and he married Ehtel Loper. They had 13 children: Lewis, Frank, Arthur, Melvin, Alfred, Betty Ruth, Vena, Birdie, Flossie, Edna, Lloyd, Hazel, and Maxine. THOMAS JAMES BOATRIGHT & MICKLEBURY BOATRIGHT. Thomas James fought in the Civil War for the Union. He was from WV and was married to Alcy Peck. They had at least 2 children: William E. (1850-1870) and Martha Jane (1853-1936). Martha married TREVANION McFADDEN 1870 in Clay Co. KS. Johnny Baker and family in the 1800's. JOHNNY BAKER from Cashmere, WA. He was a Colville Indian and a medicine man. He had a daughter Mary Ann (My grandmother) who married FRANCIS ABRAHAM. Francis's parents were JOHNNY ABRAHAM & MARY ANN WAPATO. MARY ANN WAPATO'S parents were JOHN & MADELINE WAPATO. They all lived in Manson, WA in the Lake Chelan area. All of the names I am researching lived at one time in North Louisiana. Most of them originated in Catahoula Parish. Some migrated to Shreveport and others to Arkansas. Others stayed in the Central Louisiana area. The Chambers lived in Marthaville, Natchitoches Parish, then moved to East Texas, Shreveport, and southern Arkansas. I am looking for the Shaiffers. They seemed to disappear into thin air after leaving Catahoula Parish. Some of the Adairs moved to the Shreveport-Bossier area. \r\nPartriarch Joseph Adair settled in East Carroll Parish where Joe's Bayou flowed into Bayou Macon. At one time, Joseph also lived in Concordia Parish. His children were John, David, Martha, Sidney, Sarah, and a daughter who was suspected to have been kidnapped by Indians when an infant. She was the first born. \r\nJohn's children were Johnathan Marion, Mary Malinda, James, Richard Harding, Thomas, and William.\r\nJohnathan's children were Martha Euretta, Marshall Newman, Richard Randolph, Johnathan F., and Mary Malinda.\r\nMartha Euretta m.
