He also had a Sister Bassie Davis She is my Great Grand Aunt Richard & Mary - they called her Bambi had only one child my Grand Father Samuel Davis aka (Samuel Jofar) Born 1883,in Richmond, Virginia. He ran away from home and was able to pass as white; He joined the Merchant Marine and lived in Brazil with a Family named Jofar. After he returned to America and rejoined his family he told them that Davis was a Slave name and his free name was Jofar. He would never use that name again he was not a slave to any Man, His father did not like this and there were many family arguments about it. Samuel Jofar married Ella Pierman my Grandmother she was Born 1884 in Lynchburg, Virginia the Jofar & Davis family arrived in Phoenix, Arizona about 1915 Just before the Birth of my Mother Wyona Jofar-Beasley. Samuel Jofar Became one of the 1st Black Doctor's in the state of Arizona He was a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine His Office was located near 11th Street & Washington in Phoenix, Arizona He was also a Barber And I still can remember my 1st hair cut as a child. Richard & Mary Davis are buried at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona Samuel & Ella Jofar are buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona The Children of Samuel & Ella Jofar are: Wyona L. Holcomb, McBrayer, Vickers, and Hall
Ebenezer Holcomb, Jr. (1765-1854) of Yates County, NY. The 1800 census for Mamakating Twp. In Ulster County, NY shows one Ebenezer Holcomb and one Ebenezer Holcomb, Jr. If the information I have on Ebenezer and his children with Susannah and Margaretta is correct, the Ebenezer, Jr. that's listed is my 3rd great-grandfather and the other Ebenezer is his father. Recent information indicates that Ebenezer Holcomb, Sr. may be the son of Return Holcomb 1st. my maternal grandmother, Louisa Merriman Hall. She is reliably reported to be of Cherokee descent. She was born in Kaseyville, Missouri on May 22, 1866 and died in Ryan, Oklahoma on November 26, 1912. On the 1910 census she stated that her mother was also born in Missouri and her father in North Carolina. Louisa was the second wife of John T. Vickers. They were married in Hickory Grove, KY on March 23, 1891 and lived in Pryorsburg, KY for several years before moving to Indian Territory (OK) in the late 1800s. The Collins-Baert Family Home Page
My family (Collins) has mostly lived in southern Illinois for the past 100 years or so. Originally they were Irish and Danish. The other side of my family (Dietz) has mostly lived in the Chicago Illinois area for the past 80 years or so. My husband's family (Baert) has lived in Illinois since about 1924. That is when his father (Adrian) came over from France. His father was from Belgium and his mother (Debosschere) was from France. The other side of his family (Serenko) lived in Pennsylvania. Her parents were both from Austria, Hungry. We don't know when they came over (Between 1888 and 1920). |

LEVICK'S from Illinois, Kansas, & Oklahoma during the 1800's). My great-grandfather was FRED LEVICK and he married MARY HANNAH JENKINS(daughter of FRANK & ELIZABETH JENKINS). Their children were Ralph, Albert, Marie, Bert, and JW. Quite a few of the Levick's moved to Washington State in the late 1920's and early 1930's. Fred's parents were HENRY HARRY LEVICK & ELIZABETH CAROLINE WEARE. Henry's parents were ALFRED & MARY Levick. When Alfred came over from England he settled in Scott County, Illinois. He later moved to Seneca, Nemaha Co, KS. McFaddens from Oklahoma, Kansas(late 1800's), Indiana(in the early 1800's to late 1800's) and Kentucky & Virginia(in the 1700's). My great-grandfather was William Mcfadden and he married Ehtel Loper. They had 13 children: Lewis, Frank, Arthur, Melvin, Alfred, Betty Ruth, Vena, Birdie, Flossie, Edna, Lloyd, Hazel, and Maxine. THOMAS JAMES BOATRIGHT & MICKLEBURY BOATRIGHT. Thomas James fought in the Civil War for the Union. He was from WV and was married to Alcy Peck. They had at least 2 children: William E. (1850-1870) and Martha Jane (1853-1936). Martha married TREVANION McFADDEN 1870 in Clay Co. KS. Johnny Baker and family in the 1800's. JOHNNY BAKER from Cashmere, WA. He was a Colville Indian and a medicine man. He had a daughter Mary Ann (My grandmother) who married FRANCIS ABRAHAM. Francis's parents were JOHNNY ABRAHAM & MARY ANN WAPATO. MARY ANN WAPATO'S parents were JOHN & MADELINE WAPATO. They all lived in Manson, WA in the Lake Chelan area.
