Laura's parents were Richard Samms and Minnie Cope.Current information states that they were born in Kentucky. \r\n\r\nMy maternal grandparents were Elmo Day and Edith Chestnut. Elmo's parents were Josiah Day and Nancy Browning. Edith's parents were John Chestnut and Ninnie Humfleet. Again all information has them born in Kentucky.\r\n\r\nChesnut line going back to 1767 Virginia and the Humfleet line going back to 1779 Virginia.
