He was born July 13, 1920 Port Dalhousie, Lincoln County. My paternal grandmother's name was Emma Beatrice Brady (born at Niagara on the Lake, Ontario) and whos racial origin was Irish. She was approximately 25 years at the time of my father's birth. His father was Charles Dow, born in Dunnville and racial origin of his was English. He was approximately 27 when my father was born. My mother died when I was 3 years of age in 1951 at the age of 27. Her name was Dorothy Morris, who I understand was born in or around Douglastown, Quebec. Her mother's name was Mary Ellias Morris. |

The Roland Curtin Family of Centre County Pennsylvania
Roland Curtin was born 1764 in County Clare, Ireland. He arrived in Philadelphia, Pa in 1793. He first settled in Philipsburg, Pa. and in 1799 he moved to Bellefonte, where he became a shop-keeper and later, sheriff of Centre County. In 1800 Roland married Margery Gregg. She was the daughter of John Gregg and Elizabeth. They had 7 children. Margery died in 1813 in Bellefonte, and in 1814 Roland married Margery?s first cousin, Jane Gregg. Jane was the daughter of Andrew Gregg and Martha Potter. They had 7 children, their first son was Andrew Gregg Curtin, known as The great war-governor of Pennsylvania, In 1810, Curtin and landowner Moses Boggs founded the Eagle Iron Works. The next year, Curtin purchased nearly 10,000 acres of land, all of which was subsequently cleared, most of it for the hardwood necessary to make the charcoal that fueled the iron furnaces. The Curtin family continued to operate the Eagle Iron Works until an unfortunate blaze in 1921 marked its end, one of the last functioning charcoal cold blast furnace in the United States. BROOKE was born ca 1794 in MD, married Sarah PERRY(daughter of Walter PERRY and Elizabeth PHILLIPS) in GA and migrated to MS by 1840. Joseph died ca 1856 in Lauderdale Co., MS and is buried in LOCUST GROVE CEMETERY in GA. Isaac YATES/YEATES was born ca 1860 in AR, married Becky ADAMS ca 1880 and remained in AR unitl after 1910 when he moved to MS. Becky was not counted on the 1910 Prairie Co., AR census leaving me to assume she had died by this time. Issac died 1928 in Vicksburg, Warren Co., MS. |
