My search starts with the marriage of Wyatt Parker Lochabay from Georgia and Delilah Caroline Davidson of Alabama, in Perry, county Alabama on September 19, 1847 and Robert Elijah Beasley born on April 14,1863, and Mary Elizabeth O'Rear born April 9,1866, she died before 1917,also Emerson Cooper Austin, born August 19,1853, in Kentucky and Lucinda Marillo Thompson, November 1, 1856 in Flatonia,Texas.They were married there on May 27,1875, also Eddie A. He also had a Sister Bassie Davis She is my Great Grand Aunt Richard & Mary - they called her Bambi had only one child my Grand Father Samuel Davis aka (Samuel Jofar) Born 1883,in Richmond, Virginia. He ran away from home and was able to pass as white; He joined the Merchant Marine and lived in Brazil with a Family named Jofar. After he returned to America and rejoined his family he told them that Davis was a Slave name and his free name was Jofar. He would never use that name again he was not a slave to any Man, His father did not like this and there were many family arguments about it. Samuel Jofar married Ella Pierman my Grandmother she was Born 1884 in Lynchburg, Virginia the Jofar & Davis family arrived in Phoenix, Arizona about 1915 Just before the Birth of my Mother Wyona Jofar-Beasley. Samuel Jofar Became one of the 1st Black Doctor's in the state of Arizona He was a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine His Office was located near 11th Street & Washington in Phoenix, Arizona He was also a Barber And I still can remember my 1st hair cut as a child. Richard & Mary Davis are buried at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona Samuel & Ella Jofar are buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona The Children of Samuel & Ella Jofar are: Wyona L. Asa (5)who m. Rhoda LATHE 12/08/1720 or John(6) who m. Sarah ROOD abt. 3/30/1732/33. I have Asa leaving Plymouth MA abt 1728. There were 6 girls and one boy in the family. His son John (6) shows up in western MA with a wife and children. I am reasonbly sure that Asa and wife had moved to that area and settled long enough for son John to meet and marry a local girl. Barcom from Wisconsin and Canada, Meier later changed to Meyer from Wisconsin decended from John Meier in Germany, Johnston from the West Monroe, Oswego County New York area and the Sheboygan County Wisconsin area and Zettel from Wisconsin decended from Sebastian Zettel of Germany, the area of Bavaria. The name Barcom stems from the French name Berthiuame and is spelled by some branches as Barcomb, Barcome and several others. Zettel is sometimes spelled Zettl. Sebastian, Maria and their three children settled in Leroy, Wisconsin. Son Joseph later moved to West Bend, Washington, Wisconsin while daughter Maria, Teresa and son Xaver remained in the Leroy area . Joseph's son Albert settled in Baron, Wisconsin while the rest of his children remained in the West Bend area. Johan Meier settled in Washington County Wisconsin and his children settled primarily in the West Bend and Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. He married Mary Ann Midgley b.July 6, 1846 in Paris. Both lived in or near Paris, Ontario. She died March 24, 1882. He died December 25, 1912 in Chatham, Ont. His father was Henry Ball - wife Elizabeth Small. I have traced them to Lambourne Berkshire England. His father was Robert, mother Sarah. Suzi A Baker - InterneTree father'side goes back to Lawrence Cline married Mary Flear daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth Flear. There are also the names of Sarah, Charles, Henry, Fanny, and Walter. Mary was born in Lincolnshire, England 11-25-1853. They had Roy(my grandpa), Edgar, Frank, and Maude Cline. They lived mostly around Auburn, Neb. Frank was a pharmacist, and Edgar was a doctor. Roy and Ted and Fletcher (my dad). On the other side, my mom's parents were Ira Bertwell and Lula Jane Tipton. Lula's parents were Charles and Leona Josie McConnaughey. Leona Josie was born in Knoxville, Iowa on May 14, 1861. Her mother was Ellen Young. Lula jane married Ira Bertwell June 12, 1917, the second marriage for both. Together they had Leola, Rachel Leona (my mom), Helen, and twins, Ester abd Lester, who were put in an orphanage, when Lula Jane died at the age of 39. They, too, all lived in the Auburn, Nebraska area. |

John Atwell (1718 - 1785)& Ruth (Holten) Atwell were New England Planters from New London, Conn. and settled on Acadian land in Horton Township, Kings Co., Nova Scotia in 1760. Later moved to the Gaspereau Mountain, Nova Scotia area. Their children were: Ruth; Esther; Holtum; John Bishop; Nancy; and Richard. John was a decendant of Constable Benjamin Atwell of New London, New London Co., Conn. John Henry or Henrich Hardwick (d- cir 1811) & Katharine (Hartman) Hardwick who came from Braintree, Norfolk Co., Mass to Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia around 1760. Their children were: Henry; Frederic; John; Lucretia Elizabeth; and Mary. I think John & Katherine moved back to Braintree, Mass., but their children stayed in the Annapolis Royal area. |
