Dennis Ahlberg Family Home Page
The Ahlberg Family that I have been able to trace started in Sweden in 1776 with Nils Svensson and wife Lisa who had a son Nils Petter Nilsson 1810-1875. Nils changed is last name to Ahlberg while serving in the cavalry in Sweden in 1833. He married Kjersti Larsdotter in 1838. They had six children, three died in infancy, two (Petter Magnus Ahlberg and Carl Gustave Ahlberg) came to the USA in 1874 to Lemont, Illinois. The other child, Lars Andreas Ahlberg, remained in Grevie, Sweden. Petter Magnus (1843-1918), my great-grandfather, and his family moved to Gladstone, Illinois after 1876. His brother Carl Gustave (1845-1889) and his family remained in Lemont, Illinois.\r\nmy wife (Mattioli) and her parents (Mattioli {Italy} and De\ Franceschi{ITALY}). My mother (Brown {Biggsville, IL}) and her parents (Brown {Henderson County, IL} and Kilgore{Henderson County, IL}). Kenneth D. Adair and Anna-Maria Momquist were married on August 28, 1982. Ken is the son of DONALD J.ADAIR and SHIRLEY M. OSTERBERG. Anna-Maria is the daughter of STIG G. MOMQUIST and AINA E. SAND. Johan Alfred Svensson is my Great Grandfather. He came to the United States in 1893 and was known as Alfred Swanson. He was born October 24, 1873 in Skede, J?nk?ping l?n, Sweden. In 1874, Johan and his parents, Sven August Johansson and Maria Lovisa Magnisdotter, and his older brother Karl August Teodor moved to B?ckseda parish near Vetlanda. There, the family grew to have 7 more children: Frida, Hilda, Hulda, Oskar, Gustaf, Ester, and Eric. \r\nMY GOAL: To find living descendants (son's, daughter's or grandchildren) of Johan's brothers and sisters.\r\n |
