Origin: My mother was a born "Jackstadt". my mother was born in 1926 in Allenstein, East-Prussia, today Olstyn, Poland. I believe the name is of old prussian origin, other forms may ba Jakstad or similar. The name has no obvious meaning in the german language, though it carries the syllabe "Stadt" which means town or place in German.
