John Edward Gantt, son of Thomas Gantt and Mary Smith Hall, both of Maryland, who married Elizabeth Hall, daughter of Dr. Blake Hall, also of Maryland. John E. and Elizabeth Hall Gantt moved to Missouri prior to the Civil War. Their son, Thomas Gantt was born 12 January 1855 and married Elizabeth Ann Zimmerman on 24 August 1879 in Missouri.

My great-grandparents came to Oklahoma in the land rush as far as I know. My great-grandparents later move to California and New Mexico. Others stayed in Oklahoma. Mommie and Poppie had thirteen children, my grand mother was one of them, Minnie Doris Turner(Spriggs). My grand father was William (Bill) Walter Spriggs. They had three girls, Wanda Marie, Betty June, Freda Doris. My mother is Betty JuneSpriggs(Veach). I am Betty-Ann Foster(Larkey, Crenshaw, Anderson. I now live in northern Minnesota on a cattle farm.
