Most of the Eckels that I have found were born in or around Wendelsheim, Hessen, Germany. This branch of my family lived in Germany until sometime in the late 1700's or early 1800's. Andreas Eckel Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Nagel moved to Philadelphia, PA. My Great^6 Uncle was William Eckel was rhe Superintendent of the State House Steeple, Independece Hall, Philadelphia, PA.
