We supose that come from the city Rochefort, Charentes-Maritimes in France because a lot of Acadians come from this place. The name of the first men who went to Acadie was Hurette dit Rochefort... probably the real name was Hurette and dit (say) Rochefort was his origin...

Origin: ...According to tradition, the first person to have this name was a child who was found under a tree called 'Rowan Tree', or mountain ash tree, growing in Yorkshire, England. The child was a boy and was dressed in fine clothing. He was found on the estate of a nobleman who took compassion the child and raised him as his own son, naming him 'Rowantree' after the tree under which he was found. The origin of the child he did not know and never found out. Origin: I have found two possible origins. The first (and most likely) has the first recorded name belonging to Fortun Ortiz Calderon. He was still-born and placed in a caldron until his cries alerted his parents that he was alive. A second, more obscure addition, has it belonging to descendants of Vela de Aragon, son of King Sancho Ramirez of Aragon.

Origin: I am not sure that Crosson is the correct way to spell this name. It may be spelled Crossan. My grandmother came from Donegal, Ireland around 1914 or 1915, arriving in the port of Wilmington, Delaware. Her mother was Catherine(nee: Daly) and Thomas Crosson.
