John Plympton, was an important man in colonial Mass, he was also the only relative we know who was burned at the stake by Indians, came over in 1640. Phenias Pratt arrived in 1622 on the Sparrow. John Allen was born about 1774near New Baltimore, Va., and was a farmer and a blacksmith. He married Rosilla Jane Wiles and togther they were the parents of seven children. \r\nJohn and Rosilla's fourth son, James, was raised a farmer and settled near Independence (now called Butler), Ohio in 1842. With his first wife Eliza Morris of Pennsylvania, James had two daughters and five sons. Eliza died in 1844.
