Andersons in County Antrim, Ballymoney/Dervock - Derrykeighan Parishs around 1790's - 1860's. Joseph Anderson married Mary Freeman (Roseyards townland) and had Alexander, Joseph and Hugh Alexander (1840's). Might have remarried - Templeton and had Sarah. Hugh Alexander comes to Canada - Bobcaygeon, Ontario and marries Sarah Ritchie (born in 1846 in Madrid, NewYork). Sarah's parents were John Ritchie (born Co. Monaghan) and Mary McCullough (born Co. Cavan). John had 3 brothers - James, Alexander, David Ritchie who came to the United States in 1833 with their parents - James Ritchie and Eliza and settled in Madrid/Waddington, New York. Alexander Ritchie marries Margaret Manson in Wisconsin in 1856 but returns to Madrid in time for the census in 1860. He and his father James and another family -SCARLETT join their family in Kinmount, Peterborough area by 1860. John Ritchie had was an innkeeper in 1860, but ended up having a house on E. Sherwood Street in Bobcaygeon where he died in 1902. Brother James was a farmer in Kinmount/Somerville. Alexander had a large family who finally settled around the Blind River area. |
