The MCKEES are from Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Mifflin County. William M.McKee born in Ireland abt. 1740-45. Probably in Cookstown, Tyrone, N. Ireland. William came to the U.S. married Sarah Jane Taylor in Franklin, Pa. and had seven (7) children. William served in the Revolutionary War in 1782, and the war of 1812. He died abt. 1812/13. Hugh McKee was the 6th child and my great-great grandfather b. 1799,d.1870. Hugh had nine (9) children. George my great grandfather was the 9th child b.1827,d.1900. George married Elizabeth Carney 1856 and had twelve children(12). Harry was the 10th child and my grandfather. Harry married Alvernia Rachel Shahen, 1902 and had two children, one dying at a young age the other my father John Edwin McKee.
