The AUCLAIR family came from La Rochelle, France. Jean Pierre Auclerc was born in 1627 at St. Vivien, and died Feb. 1693. He was baptized as ?Leclerc.?.His widow, Suzanne Aubineau and her two sons, Pierre & Andre came to Canada in 1666, to land in St. Francois, L?Ile d?Orleans. Tanguay records this in 1667. PIERRE?. married M.Madeleine Sediolet, March 1679 in Charlesbourg, Quebec. They had eighteen children, of which one was, CHARLES?.married M. Madeleine Dery, July 1712 in Charlesbourg, and had thirteen children, of which one was, CHARLES?married M. Therese Jobin, Oct. 1743 in Charlesboug. They had 5 children of which one was, PIERRE?married M. Genevieve Paquet, Jan. 1777 in Charlesbourg. They had 5 children of which one was, JOSEPH?Married Genevieve Vachon, Jan. 1821 in Ste. Janna L Babcock - InterneTree my father's family, the Martins were from Lewiston, Maine. His mother's maiden name was Dulac. Her mother's maiden name was Arnoldy. Their families came from France to Quebec and Acadia in the 1600's and 1700's. my mother's family, surname Kvernvik. They came from Norway in 1906. Her mother came from Norway around that time also, my grandmother's surname was Mathisen. My husband's family is also from Maine. The Babcock's settled in Bangor. His paternal great grandmother was a decendent of Abraham Somes who settled in Somesville on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, in the late 1700's. My husband's mother's family, the Ernst's came from Brooklyn, New York, and Switzerland. Atkinson family From Harrison, Morgan, and Perry county Ohio\r\n\r\nJames Atkison, is the father of Samuel James Atkinson, of Morgan and later Morgan County. James, was married to Sarah Phillis, in Morgan county, 1863.\r\n\r\nAyers family connection is through Gladys Ayers, the daughter of David Ayers and Jane Townsend. David is the son of Isaac and Ann Hope Ayers, of southern Ohio. Isaac was also married to Samantha Anderson in 1861, in Vinton county, Ohio.\r\n\r\nJane Townsend is the daughter of Martin Townsend and Louisa Graham, from Meigs and Athens county area.\r\nMost of my Atkinson and Clark research centers around Southern Ohio, in Harrison, Perry, Morgan, Athens, and Franklin counties. \r\n\r\nSeveral Clark Cousins have shared their research, for which I thank them. John Clark moved from Maryland to Pennslyvania, reaching Perry County, about 1820.\r\n\r\nMy Mansfield, Oyler and Stevens research has been centered in northern Ohio. The Oylers were originally from North Carolina, before moving to the midwest.
