POLSTON/POSTON FAMILY of South Central Kentucky. Andrew M. POLSTON was born November 10, 1832 in Wayne County, Kentucky, and died May 27, 1904, in Hart County, Kentucky. He married Elizabeth GOODMAN born February 16, 1837, and died February 10, 1910, in Hart County, Kentucky. Their children were Arrena, Stephen Douglas, Anna Eliza, William Preston, George McClellan, and Robert Lee. HARROD/HERROD FAMILY of North Central Tennessee and South Central Kentucky. John H. HARROD was born May 11, 1812, in Alabama and died May 25, 1895, in Warren County, Kentucky. John married Catherine Greene ORANGE born about 1820 and died October 06, 1867, in Warren County, Kentucky. After Catherine's death, John married Martha J. RUNNER on November 21, 1867 in Warren County, Kentucky. John's and Catherine's children were Thomas, Susan, Nancy Josephine Josie, Sophronia, Eliza F., James Yerb, Frank, Callie, Amanda, Greenie, and John. Janna L Babcock - InterneTree my father's family, the Martins were from Lewiston, Maine. His mother's maiden name was Dulac. Her mother's maiden name was Arnoldy. Their families came from France to Quebec and Acadia in the 1600's and 1700's. my mother's family, surname Kvernvik. They came from Norway in 1906. Her mother came from Norway around that time also, my grandmother's surname was Mathisen. My husband's family is also from Maine. The Babcock's settled in Bangor. His paternal great grandmother was a decendent of Abraham Somes who settled in Somesville on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, in the late 1700's. My husband's mother's family, the Ernst's came from Brooklyn, New York, and Switzerland. My ancestor was Jacob COLEMAN Petty, b. 1801 in NJ. We may be connected to the only other PETTY family in Sussex/Warren County, NJ area in the late 1700s, that of Capt. John and Margaret PETTY. the GREEN family out of Antrim, No. Ireland in 1808 w/ ancestors back to John GREEN who may have come from York, England. This line settled in Belmont Co., OH. |
