The Svendsen / Burringtons of Green County Wisconsin
My grandfather, Peder Johannes (John Peter) Svendsen immigrated in 1914 on the SS United States (not the famous liner but the old steamer). He was born in a house called Sejehuset in a small village called Slaglille in Alsted, Sor? amt in 1892. His mother's family had lived in the house for generations. I have traced his father's family (Jacob Conrad Svendsen) back to Holsteinborg on the southern coast of Sealand not too far from Slaglille still in Sor? amt. Jacob Conrad was born in F?rslev in 1824 to Jacob Peter Svendsen and Sophie Charlotte Husum. Sophie's parents were Andreas Husum and Birgette M?ller of Holsteinborg. Aderholts in West Virginia
My Grandfather was Millard Aderholt, and his Grandfather was 'Cal' (?) Aderholt who had 24 kids in Alabama. (2 wives, 12 each).\r\n\r\nMy dad was born in Alabama (near Anniston?) and when he was only 5 they moved to West Virginia, and then Pittsburgh. My dad, Danny Aderholt, then moved from Pittsburgh to Wheeling, WV with his wife, Kathy. They had 5 kids. Myself and my brother Josh, and then 3 great kids adopted from the Philipines (Jennifer, Casselyn, and Zachary).\r\n\r\nMy grandfather, Millard, had two brothers, Leroy and Hoit, and a sister Danola. Leroy's kids are in northern Alabama (Athens). The rest are still in central Alabama.\r\n\r\nThe only thing I have heard about where all us 'Aderholts' came from is that in the early 1800s a German with the last name 'Adderholdt' moved to America with 2 sons. One went to Alabama and had a family and the other went to the Carolinas and had a family. I understand that anyone with the name Aderholt, Aderhold, Adderholt, Aderholdt, etc. is related and descended from that German. \r\n |
