Arata's from Italy to California
The ARATA'S came to the US sometime in around 1875. This is my Greatgrandfathers side. His name is Stephen ARATA. His Grandfater's name is: Nicola ARATA married Anna(???) they had children whos names are Maria Arata(DeMartini)b. in Lencisa, Italy who married Giovanni DeMartini, Catarina(Campodonico), Renaldo, and Stefano ARATA born in Italy in 1856 and died in San Francisco CA on 11 April 1919. Stefano ARATA married Maria CASELLA ABT. 1865 she was born in Italy also. d.November 1, 1908 in San Francisco CA. Stefano and Maria had 4 children. Charlotte, Stephen b.20 Sept. 1893 in San Francisco, CA d.1 Jan. 1962., William b. 19 Feb. 1888 d.27 May 1963, Edward b. 24 June 1891 d. 18 March 1959. This is my Greatgrandmothers side her name was Angelina ARATA. Her father was Giovanni ARATA b. 26 July 1866 in Chiavari Italy d. 28 Oct. 1941 in San Francisco, Ca married Maria CASTAGNETTO b. 1872 in Cicagna d. 28 Sept. 1928 in San Francisco, CA. Giovanni's mothers maiden name was SORACCO. Maria's parents names were Lorenzo CASTAGNETTO and Antonetta(we dont have her maiden name). Giovanni and Maria had 6 children. Silvio b. 1893 d. 1921, Fred b. d. ???, Rose b. 1918 d. 1935??, Angelina b. 12 Oct. 1899 in San Francisco d. 6 Aug. 1983 in Redwood City, CA, Linda b.d.??, Charlie b. 24 Dec. 1890 d. 6 Nov. 1951. My Greatgrandmother and Greatgrandfather are Stephen ARATA and Angelina ARATA they had one son. Melvin ARATA b. 8 Dec. 1923 d. 20 Aug. 1992 this is my Grandfather.

Then to George's children Thomas, William, George II, James, Peggy Adams Wisner, and Francis Adams all of NC I beleive. Then to their children and my direct line which is Thomas Adams who married Ann Vaughn. Their children were Sally Adams Taylor, Ann Adams Hobbs, James, Nancy Adams Waters, Daniel, David, and George III.\r\nMy direct line from the second generation is from David Adams who married Vicie Haynes and later Betsey Fielder. David and Vicie's children were James A., Silvester, John Quincy, Joseph, Reuben, Elisha, Betty Elizabeth Adams Martin, Mary Ann Adams Price, Isibilla Adams Price, and Nancy B. Adams Adams all of AL. the children of David and Betsey's children were Henry Jackson, Larly Sallie Adams Franks, David, Tennessee 'Tenny' Adams Bettis, and Daniel Charles Adams all of AL. From Alabama they migrated to Davidson and Hardin Co., TN via the Natchez Trace and from TN they came to AR where my direct line stops.
