Tom Bauerle Home Page
JEAN BROSSEAU and PERRINE GODIN of Nantes, France. Their son DENIS BROSSEAU (B.1644) came to Montreal in the 1660's. This family stayed in the Montreal area for almost two hundred years. Between 1848-1852, my great-great-great grandparents, FRANCOIS BROSSEAU and SALOMEE DUQUETTE, moved to Kankakee County, IL. Their son, OCTAVE BROSSEAU, arrived in Buffalo, NY (ca. 1853) and somewhere along the line changed the spelling of his last name to BRUSO. He was in Adrian, MI for the 1860 Federal Census, and from there enlisted in the 5th MO Infantry (Union) at the start of the Civil War, and later in 50th NY Engineers at Buffalo. Still trying to figure out whether PETER BRUSO was a brother or a cousin of Octave's. PETER served in Company M of the 11th NY Cavalry for a short time during the Civil War. My BAUERLE line has been traced back to the Sasbach and Lauf area of Baden, Germany. The earliest ancestors traced are JACOB BEUERLE and MARIA OTT (ca. 1690's). Charles Henry Bodin. He married Idella Neal and they had seven children, Albert,Lee Bell, Verna, Henry, Louis, Odie and Odis. It is told that his parents died on board a ship traveling to the states and was raised by another family from age 6 months until he was two years old. At that time he was placed in an orphanage in New Orleans, Louisana. |

He married Mary Ann Midgley b.July 6, 1846 in Paris. Both lived in or near Paris, Ontario. She died March 24, 1882. He died December 25, 1912 in Chatham, Ont. His father was Henry Ball - wife Elizabeth Small. I have traced them to Lambourne Berkshire England. His father was Robert, mother Sarah. Bob and Debbie's Family Tree
Martin Mellinger returned to Liditz, PA in 1863 after his medical discharge from the Army in Ohio. By 1865 Martin is in Stephenson Co, Illinois and marries Anna Sellers, also of PA. They have three daughter together, Mary, Sarah, and Emma Elizabeth. Emma and Sarah list Princeton Indiana as their place of birth. Sometime after Emma's birth in 1873, Martin and Anna divorced. Janna L Babcock - InterneTree my father's family, the Martins were from Lewiston, Maine. His mother's maiden name was Dulac. Her mother's maiden name was Arnoldy. Their families came from France to Quebec and Acadia in the 1600's and 1700's. my mother's family, surname Kvernvik. They came from Norway in 1906. Her mother came from Norway around that time also, my grandmother's surname was Mathisen. My husband's family is also from Maine. The Babcock's settled in Bangor. His paternal great grandmother was a decendent of Abraham Somes who settled in Somesville on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, in the late 1700's. My husband's mother's family, the Ernst's came from Brooklyn, New York, and Switzerland.
