Her mother came from Norway around that time also, my grandmother's surname was Mathisen. My husband's family is also from Maine. The Babcock's settled in Bangor. His paternal great grandmother was a decendent of Abraham Somes who settled in Somesville on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, in the late 1700's. My husband's mother's family, the Ernst's came from Brooklyn, New York, and Switzerland. Boudreaux/Carline Family Roots
Research on the BOUDREAUX terminates with Michel BOUDROT born 1601 in France and migrated to Nova Scotia in the mid 1600's. Some of Michel's descendants were deported to France in the mid 1750s where they remained about thirty years and migrated to Louisiana in 1785. Research on the CARLINE terminates with Joseph CARLIN Jr. born about 1742 in France son of Joseph born in Lombardy, Italy. The Carlines came to Louisiana in the 1700s.
