John Nicewander of Columbiana Co, OH
John Nicewander d.o.b. 10-16-1838 in Columbiana Co., OH. He met and married Christina Geis on April 10, 1866. They lived in Massillon(Stark Co), Ohio. We believe John had a brother named Samuel, who later moved to the Battle Creek, Michigan area in his adult life. John & Christina Nicewander had 9 children, They were: 1 - Elizabethe (Neiswander) Nicewander born July 28, 1868, was christened Aug. 7, 1868, and died sometime shortly after that in Aug. of 1868 2 - Friederich Wilhelm (Neiswander) Nicewander was born June 10, 1870, was christened June 16, 1870 and died sometime during infancy in 1870. 3 - Benjamin Franklin Nicewander was born Aug. 16, 1871 (my great grandfather) He married Anna Biddle. He died February 5, 1955. He resided in Wilmot, OH at time of death. 4 - Friederich Wilhelm Nicewander (same name as 2nd child born) was born on Dec. 4, 1873. He married Minnie Rodenberger. He died on Dec. 18, 1945. 5 - Harry Washington Nicewander was born Dec. 27, 1875. He married Anna Leonard. He died on May 19, 1929. 6 - Charles Olandis (Nicewalter) Nicewander was born April 27, 1878. He married Lillie Smart. He died Dec. 12, 1954. 7 - John Henry Nicewander was born Aug. 28, 1880. He married Emma K. Weber. He died on Sept. 20, 1929. 8 - Carrie Della (Nicewanger) Nicewander was born Oct. 15, 1882. She married John H. Ehmer. She died April 19, 1951. 9 - Christopher Columbus (Niewander) Nicewander was born Oct. 13, 1884. He married Mary Weigand. He died on July 17, 1955. Benjamin Franklin (Sr.) & Anna Nicewander had 4 children: Benjamin Franklin (Jr.), Nora, John Daniel Leroy and Anne Germain. Benjamin(Jr.) married Ruby Marie Landis in 1937 and they had 7 children: Betty, Margaret, Virginia, Robert, Richard, Jeffrey, and Oscar. Oscar was killed in the Vietnam War in 1967 and Richard was killed in an auto. accident in 1982. My father was Richard, who married Mary Ann Bailey in 1968. Richard & Mary had 3 children: Laurrie, April and Jamie. I am Laurrie, I married Robert Basiletti from New Philadelphia, Ohio on Aug 13 1993, in Hillsville, Virginia.
