ancestors of my ggfather Goodwin Purcell.He immigrated from Ireland in 1849 aboard the Waterloo from Liverpool to New York.He travelled to California, then to British Columbia where he arrived in 1849.on his marriage certificate he lists his birthplace as Kilpatrick, parish of Ballyclogh, county Cork, and his parents names as Charles and Catherine Purcell. His first born son was named Charles, and when he died in 1882, his next son was also named Charles which would fit in with the Irish naming pattern.His second born daughter was named Catherine.He also had children named George, Albert,Mary,and John.
