Description: We are looking to trace the ancestry in the line of the Colver family from Michael Colver b 1791? or 1784 - d 1879. We believe he came from a line of the Colver family who migrated to Simcoe, Ontario in Canada. Michael appears to have returned to the United States subsequently.
Surnames: Colver, Collver and Culver. Our researches have recorded Michael but we are unable to find out about him or his offspring although we believe he had a son called Lewis Michael we would appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Son Joseph Driver born about 1804 Ireland (possibly Co. Wicklow), m Mary Connor in Ireland. They had 6 children: William, Mary Jane, Ann-Maria, Sarah Jane (my great grandmother, born Co Wicklow 1838), John, and Joseph Henry-Herbert. They all emigrated to Canada in the 1850s - first to the Brockville area, then to Howick twp., Co. Huron, Ontario.
Joseph had a brother Thomas who also emigrated, his first marriage in Ireland.
Joseph died 1875 Howick twp.
We know their French Huguenot surname was different in France ie it was changed on arrival in Ireland to Driver, not in Canada.
There seems to be a connection with a Benjamin Driver of Ireland; also with Anne Driver Moodie.
