Martin Mellinger returned to Liditz, PA in 1863 after his medical discharge from the Army in Ohio. By 1865 Martin is in Stephenson Co, Illinois and marries Anna Sellers, also of PA. They have three daughter together, Mary, Sarah, and Emma Elizabeth. Emma and Sarah list Princeton Indiana as their place of birth. Sometime after Emma's birth in 1873, Martin and Anna divorced. My grandfather, Peder Johannes (John Peter) Svendsen immigrated in 1914 on the SS United States (not the famous liner but the old steamer). He was born in a house called Sejehuset in a small village called Slaglille in Alsted, Sor? amt in 1892. His mother's family had lived in the house for generations. I have traced his father's family (Jacob Conrad Svendsen) back to Holsteinborg on the southern coast of Sealand not too far from Slaglille still in Sor? amt. Jacob Conrad was born in F?rslev in 1824 to Jacob Peter Svendsen and Sophie Charlotte Husum. Sophie's parents were Andreas Husum and Birgette M?ller of Holsteinborg. I am researching the Swords Family. James Swords was a Revolutionary War Veteran that received land in Lincoln Co. Georgia, in the late 1700's or early 1800's. Later some of his family relocated to Walton County, Ga. His family married with the Cason Family in Lincoln County, Ga.\r\nI\m interested in the Bentley, Boss, Bullock families from Wilkes County, Ga later relocated to Walton County, Ga. I would also appreciate help in locating information about the Martin family in Forsyth Co, Ga. in the mid 1800's. I have just started researching the Adams family from Walton County, Ga. Any help would be greatly appreciated. \r\n\r\nMy research on the Major, Jackson, Phillips, Rider families in Forsyth County, Georgia is progressing nicely. The furtherest I can go back on the Phillips line is Rev. Richard Phillips who was the founding pastor of Haw Creek Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. He and his wife Delilah Rainwater Phillips are buried in the church cemetary with many of his descendants. \r\n |
