Martin Mellinger returned to Liditz, PA in 1863 after his medical discharge from the Army in Ohio. By 1865 Martin is in Stephenson Co, Illinois and marries Anna Sellers, also of PA. They have three daughter together, Mary, Sarah, and Emma Elizabeth. Emma and Sarah list Princeton Indiana as their place of birth. Sometime after Emma's birth in 1873, Martin and Anna divorced. The Jarcho-Yarcha-Turoff-Turow-Bermant families from Slutsk
The origins of this family start in Ancient Judea and stretch to Medieval Spain and Southern France and the town of Lunel where the Ha-Yarchi families lived until late 1300's- early 1400's. The family then moved North and East into the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in what became the province of Minsk Gubernia in present day Belarus. The tows of Baranovitch, Slutsk ,Turov and Kletsk and the surrounding towns were where they lived during the 1700's and 1800's. The earliest named ancestor was Zimel Yarcha(1750-1800). His descendents spread to other areas of Russia such as Pinsk, Minsk, Yekatrinoslav and Yousovka before leaving for Israel,England,Belgium,Argentina and most to the USA. My Mother is Sylvia G. Alonzo and my father is Ramon Alonzo Jr. I was born in Southern Idaho in a place called Nampa. My Grandfather was Ramon Alonzo and his wife was Marcellena Alonzo. decendants of Martin Alonso Pinzon. It appears that the 'z' in our last name changed when my grandfather gained citizen ship into the United States. So rather than spelling it Alonso, we have been spelling it Alonzo. |

My roots are Spanish, from Asturias with Paternal grandparents from Gijon and maternal granparents from Oviedo. My Maternal great-grandfather Justo migrated to Cuba as a result of political unrest in Spain. He was a victim of the Carlistas, anarchist struggling to gain power in Spain after the fall of Napoleon. Justo was a wealthy industrialist and several anarchist groups had asked him for money for their causes. Justo knew better and denied financial help to these terrorists; as a result he was black listed and had death threats against him and family. One night he went out to the opera house with my great grandmother, and an attempt on his life failed. A hired assasin was suppose to shoot him in the crowds at the theater entrance but he evaded this assasination and decided Spain was to dangerous for him or his family. He departed Spain with his wife Dolores and daughter Angelina. He moved his family to Cuba and settle in Havana, the capital. Little that he knew that a few years later he was going to be involved in another struggle. The Cuban war of independence.
