Origin: Origin of surname is believed to be man from Tyrol or Tyroliger. As the language changed this became Trollinger. Some anecdotal evidence can be found in the wine grape known as Trollinger which produces a wine similar in taste to a chianti. The ealy church books in Ellmendingen, beginning 1618 have the spelling as Drollinger.
