The Jarcho-Yarcha-Turoff-Turow-Bermant families from Slutsk
The origins of this family start in Ancient Judea and stretch to Medieval Spain and Southern France and the town of Lunel where the Ha-Yarchi families lived until late 1300's- early 1400's. The family then moved North and East into the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in what became the province of Minsk Gubernia in present day Belarus. The tows of Baranovitch, Slutsk ,Turov and Kletsk and the surrounding towns were where they lived during the 1700's and 1800's. The earliest named ancestor was Zimel Yarcha(1750-1800). His descendents spread to other areas of Russia such as Pinsk, Minsk, Yekatrinoslav and Yousovka before leaving for Israel,England,Belgium,Argentina and most to the USA. The Eugene Armento Family of the Florida Keys
Rosina De Stefano married Antonino Giardina about 1896, 1897, or 1898, probably in New York City. Henry Clausen emmigrated to America it is said from the Alsace-Lorraine, o what was then Germany. He came in 1863 and married Adelaide Baral. She came with her widowed mother and four sibling on the Saxonia, arriving in NYC in 1866. They lived in Jersey City, New Jersey when my grandfather was born in 1876. The marriage record of William Louis Clausen to Emma Louis Leibe was found and took place November 21,1901 at St. Trinitatis Evangelical Lutheran Church. This church record shows Emma's birth as being from Breitengassbach, Bayern, Germany, October, 1882. Antonino Giardina (possibly Giardino) from Termini Irmese married Rosina De Stefano from Palermo, Italy. He arrived in New York City , Dec, 3,1888. Armentos from San Mauro Forte, Matera, Italy. |

I have a lot of information on the Laughlin, Davy , Glendenning and Thomson lines, but the Sullivan, Burgess, Farrer, Harman, Trivett and Purchase lines need much more work. Please note that the Davy, Thomson and Glendenning pages are very large and takes time to load.
I am most interested in finding information on James Sullivan who immigrated to Canada in 1912 and left behind their families. I know it is too much to find my grandfather side of the family. (do you know how many James Sullivan's there are?) If you have any information on a James Sullivan born in England on Sept 25 in the 1870's, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! Sebastian & Eva Leibel emigrated from Schleithal, district of Weissenburg, Alsace, France to Josephstal in Odessa Russia. The year was 1804. Anton, our direct Ancestor was therefore either born in France or emigrated there. Eva & Anna would have been born in Russia, and it's not know when Katherine was born or how old she was at the time of her death. |
