My father's side includes James (Jens) Jensen (Norway) and Alice Langlie (parents from Norway.) My mother's side includes DeLord LaBarre (White Bear Lake, MN) and Dena Ecklund (WI.) Their parents were Mathias Jensen (Vega, Norway), John Langlie (Norway), Joseph LaBarre (French Canadian) and Peter (Per) Ecklund (Ludvika, Sweden.) Benjamin Gervais was a fur trader who settled in St. Paul (owned most of downtown) and then settled Little Canada, MN. His son, Bazille, was the first white man born in St. Paul. |
